You guys all have me puddled up with your kindness.
By the way, before things went bad for Blues, he was able to read through a lot of your well wishes personally. He was absolutely speechless because y'all made him feel so cared about. That really meant a lot to him. I'm sure he'll be back when he can get untethered from his monitor again.
Dave and Lexi are both doing great. Lexi loves the snow and gets "the zoomies" and then eats the stuff. We got another 4" of it yesterday on top of our 12" from Winter Storm Euclid.
I have to share this. It's amazing.

Hey - I'm older than dirt, and I don't know what that is. Maybe that just means I'm old and feeble-minded.
So good to see so many old acquaintances here, and so many great new people, too!
My life has been upside down for over a year now, and I've nearly abandoned most of my ECF threads, due to illness & business.
Lost: two 17 yr-old kitties and one Mom; my beloved old house in KC (I moved); and all my dear, dear friends in KC.
Found: a couple of amazing juice vendors; my way around parts of my new "home" town; and not much else.
Rave, you and Bluesman are both in my prayers.
Goodbye and good riddance to 2012. May 2013 bring ALL of us a much better, healthier and happier year!

BTW folks, You do not need a lot of talent to apply a coat of stain, let it dry, and spray it with a coat or two of spray clear coat. The boxes are available on line from Hobby Lobby in various sizes. I just happen to have a store here in town and found one cheap. I was going to make one with hobby lumber from Lowes, but just the boards in oak or birch were more than the price of the box already constructed from Hobby Lobby.

The proof that you are talented is the fact that it was so effortless for you. Someone like me would have the stain on everything BUT the box.

I just got an update:
"Blues is okay and sleeping. His heartbeat is still a little irregular but his blood pressure is steady. They have him on IV antibiotics for the infection. The doctor says he expects him to be fine, it's just going to take a little longer than expected."
Okay - maybe I can breathe and sleep now! *whew*

Rave, I hear that bacterial infections are pretty common after surgery. His immune system is so focused on the cuts and grafts that the bugs slipped through. Plus he's in a hospital - bacteria galore! Once the antibiotics kick in, he'll be back in no time!
...but maybe tell him not to try vaping for awhile. He doesn't need anything going into his lungs but air.
My condolences, Chief. Loss is never easy.
