Sitting down, facing forward.
Why do I ask questions like "what CAD program are you using?" Now I'm intrigued by Sketchup and will have to watch a few of the tutorials to see if I can make it do what I want (AKA am smart enough to learn another CAD program).

Where I live in NJ, we don't have any gorges or spectacular falls like that, but we do have our share of fossils. When I was a teenager the County built a park and dug out a couple of large pond/lakes. This is in the Shark River area, the actual site of the underlying story for Jaws, so it was all marl. A friend and I used to go the park and climb around on the hills of spoils from the ponds getting a nice gooey black mud all over us in the process. Then, one day, one of us, think it was my friend, got stuck, good, by something sharp in the mud. It was a shark tooth. We spent a lot of time screening the mud and found thousands of shark teeth. Ended up using them in a project for Boy Scouts.

Anyhow, we took the nicest samples to the County Museum and the geologist there kept them for about a month to evaluate them. He told us they ranged in age from 6 to 10 million years old and the local paper, a real rag even then, even did a story on it. Thankfully, they didn't want to do a photo of us screen that mud!

One more thing about my area that people who like car racing might be interested in is that we're fairly close to Watkins Glen, where there's a lot of big car races. I have no interest in car racing, but lots of people do, and one thing that I do find interesting is that you can actually drive your own car on the racetrack. Unfortunately, I see that they don't let you go as fast as you dare, which I think would make it more exciting. See Thunder Road Tours - Watkins Glen International for details.

That's so neat! I never realized that NJ had fossils. But the state sure does have a lot of interesting things no one seems to know about.

Ocean Grove is a very interesting town. One day while we still lived in NYC, Bill & I visited the place. We walked around the town and were in time for a bell-ringing concert at the big auditorium in the center. Then we strolled along the boardwalk and had lunch at a lovely Victorian house on a shady side street. No alcohol is allowed in this town, and all the residents are part of a religious community. Many live in interesting tent houses. The auditorium in the center of town is an interesting place, too. I marveled at the architecture. Ocean Grove, New Jersey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The New Jersey Pine Barrens have fascinated me ever since I was a small child, before the Atlantic City Expressway was built, and we took a meandering route through them from Philadelphia to Cape May, complete with Burma-Shave signs. Anyone remember them? John McPhee wrote a fascinating book about the Pine Barrens. Pine Barrens (New Jersey) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Another interesting phenomena are the cedar lakes. The cedar trees around them make them tea-colored, but the water is pure and sweet, and they provide great swimming. At lest they did, back in the '60s. I sure hope they are not all polluted now.

Near Atlantic City in Margate is Lucy the Elephant. Lucy the Elephant When I was a kid, this oddity stood in a field, abandoned and absolutely fascinating to me. It has been restored, and you can take a short tour.

Then, of course, there's Cape May, where I spent many childhood vacations. Cape May, New Jersey - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The town is at the southern tip of the state and is actually below the Mason Dixon Line, even though the bulk of NJ is considered a northern state. When I was a kid, the town was very segregated with even certain beaches delegated to either blacks or whites. Out at Sunset Beach, there's a sunken ship just offshore that has been slowly breaking apart over the years. That always fascinated me. S.S. Atlantus And it was fun to search the beach for Cape May diamonds, which are actually small bits of quartz made clean & smooth & transparent by the waves. Cape May diamonds - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Near Cape May, in Rio Grande, NJ, is Menz restaurant with the weirdest, most eclectic collection of all sorts of things, including taxidermed (is that a word?) 2-headed calves and such oddities. The food is OK, but the decor is the must-see part.

In another direction, we used to hike from the Weis Ecology Center. Introduction Now I see it's closing, though it says you can still park there and hike in the Norvin Green State Forest, which adjoins the ecology center's land. There's a place at the top of a mountain where you can look out over miles of rolling green hills and see the tallest buildings of Manhattan on a clear day.

Another great place to hike is right over the George Washington Bridge from Manhattan, then north on the Palisades Parkway to one of the scenic overlooks, where there's a trail along the top of the Palisades, cliffs overlooking the Hudson River far below. Numerous places take you down to a trail alongside the river, though we did that once, and part of the trail was big boulders that were hard to negotiate, and the climb back up was literally breathtaking. At the NJ/NY state line is a place to pull off the parkway with a generous parking lot and a small restaurant serving fast food -- or at least it was there last I visited years ago.

My point here is that NJ is more than just the Meadowlands outside NYC. There's a lot of scenic, wild areas that no one ever thinks about.

I am quite tempted to put a picture of myself diving off of those falls (in the buff of course), but I don't want to ruin your beautiful scene like I did before.

Go ahead........I know, if you want to hide your nudity, you could be going over the falls in a barrel. Didn't someone try that at Niagara Falls? :)

Wabbit! Why so quite lately?? PLEASE don't be afraid to be yourself! Post it... come on widdle bunny... I guess it would be small though.

LMAO.....You guys are hilarious!!!

There are fossils all over, the only thing is, has anyone found them yet? Not too far from here, a couple of kids found out that a 'cow bone' they discovered while fooling around near a creek was actually a mastodon bone. Michigan cousins go after crayfish, hook a mastodon - CNN.com

Sandy, you live in such a wonderful area, kind of reminds me of the upper peninsula here in Michigan. Lots of tea colored water up there too, it's positively gorgeous!

The tea-colored water is in New Jersey, many hours' drive from where I live now. I used to live in Philadelphia, PA, and it was near there.

I just started watching Nascar last year. My town has a little Nascar track and I was invited to my first race last year. We sat so far down in the stands I spent the majority of the night rubbing dust out of my eyes. I was thankful one of the kind gents had brought a bunch of ear plugs. That night they were racing 3 different cars. It was interesting to watch, although I never understood why anyone would want to race around an oval track. Seemed boring to me when I'd see it on TV. But in person, it's fun.

I started watching the races on TV when I had a chance. I like Danica Patrick and I root for her because she's a woman in a very male dominated sport. She had a decent season last year, but seemed to wreck quite a bit. I wouldn't call myself a full fledged fan quite yet, but at least I'm understanding a bit more.

I have been quite a busy little bunny today, in one of my cleaning up moods (which Mrs. Wabbit likes), then took a long winters nap. I actually did do a google search for nude divers, .... the pictures wern't of any actually diving, like off of a waterfall.

My grandson asked me if I still look at young women, I said yes, but I can't remember why.

See you all later.

I think it's in the air Rabbit!

I got busy and raked my yard. I also raked as much as I could out of my tree. I'm sure my neighbors must think I'm crazy raking my tree! The leaves this year clung to the trees for the longest I've ever seen. Usually I'm done raking by Christmas.

I took my Harley out for a quick spin around the neighborhood to get the fluids moving again. It felt good, but cold! My cheeks (bottom) are still cold!

I can't seem to get motivated in the house though.

That was all "Greek" to me as well until I looked it up. Are you just looking at VHF/UHF or down into HF? Better yet, what the heck kind of USB/TV dongle are you using? The Ten-Tec I mentioned is HF only but I've always been a bigger fan of HF for the ability to listen Internationally. I've already got a few scanners hanging around, albeit Albatrosses based on current technology. I really need to update them as well just to be able to follow trunked systems. I had no idea anyone was out there writing basically free code like that, amazing!
I use one like this Digital TV Tuner DVB T MPEG4 Digital TVSD Realtek RTL2832U Elonics E4000 P250 | eBay

Cheap and it works from 64MHz up to 2.2GHz. You can also mod it to go down to HF with only a small wire or use a transverter but i use it straight as it is. The software can also handle the PTT from a real transmitter so you can use it like a normal HAM station but i use it to capture and analyze or find new frequencies.

This is only the beginning, the SDR world has too many new things to show.

I know what you mean about the leaves not falling. I live in a wooded community and for years I cut one or two oaks down in the Spring, split them up and burned them in my wood stove during the following winter. Then several years ago, I had my lot cleared except for three oaks. It still takes me a long time to rake leaves because everyone else has lots and lots of oaks surrounding me. Anyway, this year the oaks held on to their leaves well into winter. I just finished up having all of mine hauled away two weeks ago. I save some, plow them into my garden. We can't burn anymore due to the extreme environmentalists (excuuuuuuuse me if you are one), but they almost passed a law to outlaw wood stoves OMG.

Keep on trucken on your harley, but be CAREFUL!

You gotta have a jezve (a special type of pot) to make Turkish coffee properly. It's kind of a pain, but it's worth it to me. I got addicted to it decades ago.

It's wonderful to be able to say that you live in the house of your dreams. Sounds perfect for you Lizzie. :)

Being Greek I grew up with it. All the effort is soo worth it.

It must be the weird weather or something this year. I have a renter two houses down that never rakes his leaves until Christmas. The wind blows from his house down to mine and I always end up raking his too. The storm drain is on my property, so I'm always out there raking the leaves out. It got clogged once already and I had a small lake in front of the house that ever so quickly creeped up my driveway. It almost sent me into a panic!

I'm always careful when I'm riding. It's the people talking on their phones, eating, smoking <we've all dropped one and had to fish it out one time or another>, and just generally not watching the road that I'm worried about! :)

One of my T3's is leaking. Is it doomed? Is there anything I can do to fix it or should I just put a new head on it and move forwards with my life?

I'm not sure just yet what makes them leak. I haven't had one start leaking yet, but I'm only month into them. I'd suggest a new head. It sounds like they're wicking too fast for some reason and/or losing their seal for reasons yet to be determined.

Just my opinion. Worth what you're paying for it. Your results and mileage may vary. No warranty or guarantee is expressed or implied.

Can't you ask your renter to rake the leaves earlier? I think my landlord would.

Did that start on refilling? If some liquid was still in it and you added more, sometimes liquid that is still in the coil will run down into the airhole when you unscrew it. It will drip or run out through the mouthpiece. That happened to me once. I just emptied the remaining liquid into an empty bottle (didn't want to waste it) and rinsed the T3 and bottom part out. I used another T3 while that one air dried. When I used it again, it was fine.

Also, you can get condensation that builds from unvaporized liquid... meaning when you draw the vapor up and the button is still pressed, it will quickly liquify and drain back down the airhole. Sometimes there's some gurgling. If that happens, take the T3 off the battery and clean the post and threads and it will be ok. Another thing, after filling the T3, wipe around the thread area because liquid can pool around the rim and when you screw the bottom back on, the puddle will ooze out and it appears to be leaking. Now I check all this before putting it on the battery and haven't had this happen anymore. Hope this helps a little. There is a learning curve with these things... but it gets better the more you use them.

You're just too nice and some people will take advantage of that. It sounds like your renter is one of those.
