Rabbit... can you crop the picture of Alice for Deb? Making Alice larger, cutting out the bottles? She would be so happy if you could. You're good with this kind of thing.

Your wish is my command - Here's Alice:laugh:

I love these bird pictures especially when they are not caged. Seeing them in their natural environment. I never wanted one as a pet to keep caged. No offense to anyone who has a bird as a pet, that's just the way that I personally feel about it. They have wings and should be allowed to fly. I have a deep affection for them. Another revelation since my picture has been revealed. My maiden name was Byrd (bird)... my married name is Walker. My friends have been known to call me "birdwalker". You can imagine the ribbing I get from them sometimes. That's why I didn't hyphenate my name after marriage.

Agreed. I've had Whisper on all sorts of foods. She has allergies. I finally found a vegetarian food that has improved her coat and skin. I was having to give her Claritin for her allergies otherwise she'd scratch and scratch until she pulled her fur off.

She loves apples, bananas, carrots and a myriad of other veggies. We make a pretty good pair!

That's so odd, since dogs are carnivores. Aren't there some nutrients she's missing that a dog needs, since she doesn't eat meat? Does she get some sort of supplement?

Nice job on the collage, Rabbit! You should look into using Photo Bucket, it's free!

Yes, that's what I use. So far, it seems to work. However, by mistake, I uploaded some photos I already had on there, and now I can't seem to figure out how to take a photo off, delete it, whatever. Anyone know? Also, they have some sort of Edit feature, where I think you can play around with your photos, but I haven't tried it yet. Does it do anything I couldn't do with iPhoto?

Sitting down, facing forward.
No reason to be self conscious about your photo, JoAnn! Besides, that collage puts faces to all the folks we all talk to here all the time.

The last time we had Bo at the vet a guy came in with a macaw. Beautiful bird with such vivid, vibrant colors and that long beak was amazing. Feeding it was a problem, just getting the right foods for it kept him busy. He was driving a Ferrari so I don't think the cost was a problem for him. He said he had three more at home and they had free run of the house. He also must have a staff to run around wiping up after them, LOL. Birds can be "messy" shall we say.

There is a security hole in Java and Oracle says it should be disabled until the patch comes out. Seems serious since they said to do that and it can allow hijacking of your machine.

Careful with a vegetarian diet for a dog. They do need many of the enzymes only found in meats. There may be, by now, a vegetarian substitute available, but I've never seen one. Bo has a tin stomach and we've spent lots of money on chicken and rice, vet visits and trying different foods as well. He's on Wellness now and he's doing fine.

OMGOSH. What a beautiful shot! Those lil Yellow Bullets are so fun to watch!

JoAnn : so sorry you had to go thru that. My sis just sent me something about needing to disable Java. Haven't checked it out yet... Warning came from Homeland Security /FBI me thinks. (She has a state job and passes them on.

I like Birdwalker! That can be your Native American name.

Here's another uncaged bird for you. I was sitting in my home office back when the weather was still warm enough for the window to be open. I heard a really weird squawk from outside in the backyard. I heard it again. I had to go see, and when I did, this big woodpecker was on the tree out there. I grabbed my camera and snapped some pictures right through the screen. I used the zoom lens and put the camera right up against the screen, so you can't really see it, it was so out of focus. Anyway, this woodpecker was pretty large -- about the size of a crow, I'd say. We have a smaller woodpecker who's around a lot, and I have a photo of him, too, but I hadn't seen this big guy before. He was around for a few days, then disappeared. Maybe he flew south?

That's another reason I wouldn't want a bird as a pet. Can't be housebroken!

Do you mean if it's not disabled it can allow your pc to be hijacked?

Yes, I saw this last weekend and it slipped my mind. In IE, click the little gear icon in the upper right corner Tools, Then choose Manage Add Ons, Find any reference to Java (Sun Microsystems) and Disable it - At least for now.

Is this for PCs only, or do I need to worry about this with my Mac?

You should be able to click on the picture so it's the only one showing. Look near the top - me thinks - should be an option to delete.

Thanks! Why couldn't I figure that out myself? Here are some daisies for you for being so helpful.

@ JoAnn - yes! Disable it!
@ SandySu - if memory serves that's a Hoary woodpecker - the largest in that group. Piliated are bigger yet!
Beethoven is doing well on a grain free diet. Lots of our beloved pets are having trouble with grains too. A Malty we took in had allergies - licked his foot orange! Can't recall the name but there was an excellent raw food - shaped in half dollar sized circles that did wonders for their breathe & teeth. I just didn't get to that store often enough - also out of the budget.

Incidentally - 1/3 of the (human) population has gluten issues. Any digestive upset, skin (acne on the CHEEKS) eczema, psoriasis etc are strong indicators.

You look too pretty to hide behind the camera. Let us see your whole face. Anyway, thanks for giving us a glimpse.
