Well said! While I agree w/ Sandy to a point - I had the same rule as the S-I-L: No phones at the table. Confiscation meant 24 hours - that finally got the point across. There has to be some time set aside to interact with family. The same rule held for the car. One bio-mom thought I was totally insane because I didn't allow 'precious' to play DVD's or tune out with the MP3. Sorry - but the BEST conversations happened in that car! Later when they started thinking about driving (one could text w/ his phone in the pocket -at the table thot it rude at a restaurant) they were totally lost. No sense of where town "A" was in relation to town "B". It finally hit home when I asked what hiway we were on. No clue. If your girl called to say she was in Mankato, would you turn left or right to get there. He picked the wrong way. Other parents that had allowed their kids to be 'entertained' in the car complained of the same thing.
Exactly! Didn't you find it rude?
LOL! Looking forward to your pic being added!
The ride was in regard to the temperature roller coaster; 45 - 20 - 38 - 9 - minus 4 - 28 - 33 and who knows from there!
Umm - visit in later Sept! Mild temps - bugs might be gone - definitely NO humidity!
So! We are at a balmy minus 3 - heading lower tonight w/ Windchill WARNING of negative 25 to 40 til noon Monday.
The kids are tucked in w/ extra timothy-alfalfa mix for the day! Sadly have the 2 bullies (Molly & Sully) locked in a pen so the rest can stay inside out of the wind if they want. 5 buckets of water carried over so they should be good. I'm soooo very thankful the thaw melted most of the ice to make a snaking trail from the pumphouse to the barn door! The rest of the yard is iced w/ snow flurries creating an extra slick experience!
Have a good day!
