That's a good idea about disposables for the homeless. I was at the dog park today with my cig a like. A guy came up and wanted to bum a cigarette from me. I told him it was an ecig. We had a nice conversation about it.

I have given away a number of disposables to friends that are smokers so they could try it. If I had more money, I'd be passing them out like candy.

Ah - As I have said before, although "You" may not hear from "Me" as much as I use to post - I am always around reading all the post in the "Voltville" Chit Chat Thread and even scan some of the others too . . . AND even though I enjoy all the post and hearing about what is happening with everyone here, I just don't have all that much to add to the current conversations . . . SO, either I wait till something "hits" me or that I want to comment about or feel that is worth while to post - that's all . . .

Oh and as for "Jenny Joesph" Poem - Always "liked" that one . . .

AND - I hope everyone knows about the "Red Hat" Society Women - They're a REALLY GREAT GROUP . . . :D

BTW: @ "Awsum" - Just as an FYI - Even though I cannot remember the who or where I met him on the forum, but I know that there is a ECF Member that works in a "Homeless" Shealter who has been arranging/getting eCigs for those who want to stop smoking that he distributes them too . . . I think if you did a search or went to the PIF Sub-forum someone could point him out to "You" - Maybe he can help "You" arrange something for where you help out . . . Also - There is a Vendor on ECF that is distributing "FREE" (absolutely no cost) Disposable to people who want to try and quite smoking using an ecig (PM Being sent with name) Maybe if you talk with them - they might be willing to send your group a whole box of them to distribute . . . Just a thought ;)

Okay - That's it for "Me" right now . . . :D

Uncle, I remember this poster as being in central/south? FL. And I always thought it was a "she", although I may have been mislead by the username or avatar. You'd need to go back several months; maybe a year to find the posts. Searching on "homeless" should get you to the posts, if my memory serves me correctly.

Good Morning Volties!

I use the term "good" loosely. It is a meager 3 degrees here. Lexi is one of those dogs that conserves energy at all costs. Not when I opened the door to let her back inside from her morning call of nature. She ran inside! It will be a good day for me to keep a fire going in the fireplace and think warm thoughts.

Speaking of warm thoughts, the coffee's hot. It's nothing fancy - just generic coffee, but it'll warm the insides.

Fantastic I slept a bit late and could use the coffee. It is a balmy 12 degrees here. Almost tropical:)

Ah, but I will staying inside where it is truly toasty. Knowing you, you'll be outdoors being all ambitious. Wear your mukluks! Better yet - dress like Ralphie in The Christmas Story. coldoutside.gif

Yes, I will be burning yard duff if Hubby can get the hedge trimmer going for me. If not, there's always getting old straw out of the goat pen. I could probably do 4 wheel barrows of clean up in that pen.

We have some trees to prune and might get at least a start on that.

It will actually warm up into the forties today so it won't be too bad out there.

It's turned cold here, too, though not as cold as where you are. It's in the teens here, and according to the weather forecast, we'll be lucky to see 20 degrees today. We had maybe 2 inches of snow here, though Bill says it's a lot less in Ithaca (those microclimates, you know). No one plowed the driveway yesterday, probably because the snow persisted falling till well after dark. I think they may come today, but maybe not, since we've all been able to come and go without plowing. Still, I've got to go scrape snow off my car. Will I drive to the physical therapy appointment today or walk? It's a nice, sunny day, but very cold. The physical therapy office is only about a mile away. Do I dare? I need the exercise, but it is awfully cold. So that's my big dilemma of the day. Do I walk or drive?

Walking is tempting but keep your shoulder toasty warm so when you get to physical therapy you won't be extra stiff:)

Good Morning Volties! Thanks for the coffee Rave. A hot cup of coffee is truly needed on a COLD day @ 22 degrees. Adding high gusty winds to the mix... great day to stay inside. At least it's sunny for a change. No walk for Spanky today! Oh no.. not me!! He will have to make due with running in the backyard chasing critters for exercise. He loves the cold but alas his mommy does not.

Be careful if you decide to walk today SandySu... you don't want to slip and fall on black ice!

I swept the snow off the car. Yes, I think I'll drive to physical therapy today. The snow is powdery and easy to sweep off, but there's a gusty wind out there, causing it to drift and making it extra cold. I feel like such a wimp! I need the exercise, but there's no point in getting frostbite. Inside my winter jacket, my shoulder is nice and warm, but my face was really cold, and sweeping the car clean didn't take as long as walking a mile would take, so I think I should be sensible rather than gutsy.

I can't stop thinking about that parrot movie I watched yesterday. That touched me deeply. You can tell it's a low-budget movie, but it was done well, and I really got involved in those parrots. If you love animals and haven't seen it, I really recommend it, and it's free, right there on YouTube.

Joanne, Spanky is so cute!! CKCS was at the top of my list of breeds to get but I went with Penny Poo Poo the PWC:)

I went out to feed and it turns out the goats were all sleeping outside on their "old" straw. I like to put new straw in the goat hut and pull the old straw out for them to lay on outside. Then, of course, the oldest straw gets taken away by wheel barrow. Sometimes I get behind a bit on getting the oldest straw picked but the goats don't mind.

In the spring I'll have one last major clean up and then the goat pen gets a lot easier to keep clean:)

No black ice here. Everything's covered in snow. But it's too cold to walk, I decided.

You know what's really nice? Sitting inside with my vape and not hiding in the office so Hubby won't be affected by my smoking!!!!! I think I'll get another cup of coffee and hang out in the den with Hubby and watch some TV while I vape my face off.

Then, time to get something done!

Sitting down, facing forward.
Well it's warmed up to a balmy 24 so far this morning with 30+ mph wind. Bo didn't seem to mind his walk this morning even with the snow we got last night. For a little while it looked like we were really in for it, then it stopped almost as fast as it started and just left an inch or so. By the end of next week they're calling for the 60's again. Well ,if you don't like the weather, just wait a little, it'll change.

Thanks Lizzie! I think he's cute too... he's my baby. He thinks his cuteness will work on me to take him for a walk but I'm remaining firm. I kind of wish he would view the cold like Lexi. When he's outside, he'll scratch at the door. I'll open it but he jumps back and turns in circles... letting me know... "come out to play... it's too nice to stay inside!" I walk away, this has been repeated a couple of times already this morning. I just let him back in and he came in defeated, went to lay down with a pout on his face.

I'm going to change your username to "BusyLizzie"! Don't you ever sit back and chill sometimes? ;)

That's what they always say about this area. I'm not against warmer weather, but today's weather is more what I expect at this time of year.

I must have been a bear in my past life... they hibernate through winter! :)
