Interesting. Are you taking the kind with the boswellia extract, 5-Loxin? I've heard that MSM is very effective, too. (I just looked it up, so that's how I know what's in the different mixes.) Bill takes the basic chondroitin & glucosamine supplement, and he seems to do well on it, but I wonder if this one would be better. Can you buy it in your grocery store, or do you have to order it online?

Yes, this one has boswellia, MSM, Collegan, Vitamin C, Manganese, Hyraluronic Acid and Boron....in addition to the glucosimine and chondroitin. I bought this bottle at the grocery because they had it on sale. The store often has the various supplements on sale or two-for-one and sometimes I get a coupon. If I need more and the grocery isn't having a sale I look online for the best buy. I switch brands and sellers, just check the ingredients and the levels of them.

It costs me a lot more buying OTC supplements. My insurance paid almost all of the cost of the Celebrex and of course they don't cover OTC meds. But I'm kind of weird.....I have a fear of prescription drugs.

I have to do the real sugar. No substitute for me on french toast. It's something that I don't have very often but when I do, it's got to be real... real butter too! Hubby likes his with maple syrup.

I just try to cut down a lot on carbs because my blood sugar level was a little high last year. But I think I'll use real sugar on French toast again. I don't fix it that often and it doesn't take much sugar on it. We have to have a certain amount of sugar for fuel. I'll just figure French toast as one of my 'fueling' stations.

I agree, that these natural substances are probably better for you than prescription drugs. Natural doesn't always mean safe, but in this case, I think it's safer, and maybe even perfectly safe as well as effective.

Someone just posted this on another list, and I thought I'd share, since so many people here have dogs. Lots of dog food recalls lately: Dog Food Recalls | Dog Food Advisor

Thanks for the link Sandy. Thankfully, none of Whispers food/treats are on that list!

Good Morning Volties! Rise and Shine!! Coffee's on and some french toast is coming up.

It's a cold and dreary morning today with a freezing rain/snow coming later today. Not feeling my best lately... As much as I hate to admit it, I believe I will have to visit my doctor shortly. My knees have been giving me a fit, very tender to the touch. I'm not having a problem walking around and they are not keeping from doing anything, but very painful during the night. Maybe I just have to give it more time.

Advil is my friend when my knees act up. Best thing to do this weekend is get your legs elevated and ice them every couple of hours for 10 minutes. This will help with inflammation. Anytime you hurt yourself like this, always get ice on it. Never apply heat until a doctor tells you to do so. Hope you feel better soon!

French toast! One of my favorites! I saw where one of the DIY shops was selling french toast DIY juice. I forgot where, and I'm busy looking for it again. I have maple syrup juice, but no french toast!

Kico, I heard that freezing yeast is OK for the "Instant" kind (that I use), but not so much for the "regular" kind (that you have to proof first - kills them).

I just started baking bread, and it amazes me how homemade bread can be so much tastier than store-bought - and with just flour, yeast, salt and water...for a whopping total of 74¢ per batch!
If I add herbs into the batter before fermenting, do you know if it will affect the rise?
Sorry Cindy - no clue! I've made an herb bread but it was called a Quick / Batter bread. It did have to rise - one time ...

Here's one article about Teflon. Is Teflon safe? - Health & Wellbeing It sounds like its probably safe at reasonable cooking temperatures.

But something I researched a while ago is probably more worrisome: BPA, which is a plastic a lot of food containers are made from. See Plastic (Not) Fantastic: Food Containers Leach a Potentially Harmful Chemical: Scientific American
My understanding from Mercola.com is they should only be used at medium or lower heat ... Yeah - BPA is another problem.

WELCOME TO VOLTVILLE - KSFarmGirl!
Umm - with all due respect to your photo ... Better you ... :D We have plenty with the 4 inches of fluff on top the ice pack!

Here's something that made me laugh: a lament about Pachelbel's Canon: Pachelbel Rant - YouTube

When I worked at the nursing home, that was the one piece of music we kept on continuously thru the night for an Alzheimer resident.
As long as it was on, he could go back to bed after the restroom. If it was off, he would come out wandering the hall not sure what to do ... very calming.

Hi Lizzie - sorry about the Dickies incident.
Oh = a new tip I just heard about - a no brainer - wonder why I didn't think of it!
Toss a DRY towel in with your clothes ... they will dry quicker ... I happen to notice it cut 10 minutes time off a load of misc jeans, knit pullovers and socks ... that was using a "sham wow" type of thingy. Something I picked up on Ebay - touted for pets. It's great to put on the rug to step out of the shower ... NOT to dry the poor pupper!

Rave - Sorry to hear about the difficulty ... Someone else just emailed me about their situation going on Medicare too. Not nearly as disastrous as your situation - but if you don't have the money ... you don't have the money - whether it's $2 or $2 million ... grrr.
Be praying for you ...

We just got back from town ... I took all my change into the bank ... Yippeee! $33 - picked up a badly needed halter and puppy treats! We stopped for the mail and this caught my eye ... wonder what they are up to with this? Did they finally decide we aren't so stupid that they want to try a new "gimic"? (Oh boy - hope this isn't a "8x10"!)

ETA: Grr - photobucket! You didn't leave it turned correctly!

That little 'case' from SI is pretty handy. I was surprised to see it in person ... holds more than I thought it would.
As you can see from the pic - it even holds the X2-650 err 600? mah - at a slight angle. I had it in with the 78's but it does put a little "strain" on the zipper ... anyway - I swapped out the key ring for a carbiner clip that happens to match!
Thot I'd share in case anyone was on the fence about it. I've been thinking about it since I first spotted it.

Thanks for the coffee!

I've only had this problem since I fell on Valentine's Day. I fell getting out of my car, right down on my knees. Maybe I just have to give it more time.

I was thinking that would be your reply ... If it helps any ... my ankle is still a little "tight" - will be 2 weeks tomorrow. Granted knees are a little different than ankles ... but I'd consider getting it checked too. We are not quite as "rubbery" as when we were 2! :D
Bone chips can hurt pretty good too ... (remembering a chipped knuckle - complements of a buck off ... )

I love these little cases too. I got two of them, purple and black. Great for carrying extras and they don't take up much space either. Love those clips that you are using.. great idea! :thumb:

American Spirit cigarettes aren't new: They've been around since 1982 (per http://www.cigarettespedia.com/index.php/BrandNatural_American_Spirit). There are a few other brands, but this one is the most well-known.

I finally received my vape mail from TFA California. Got a large bottle of Dbl RY4 flavoring as well as a large bottle of Cinnamon Danish. My RY4 recepie is 15% Dbl RY4, 5% Vanilla, 2% TFA and 5% caramel. It is as close to EC Blends mixed RY4 as I can get. Frankly it is just as good. I will not be purchasing any more pre-mixed RY4. My first try at Cinnamon Danish is somewhat weak at 15% Cinnamon Danish and 5% Ethyl Malto. I am running short of Ethyl Malto so I may have to use Cotton Candy, or I may add some Bavarian Cream and a drop of Coconut. Oh I also got a large bottle of peanut butter favor. My Reeses mix is a nice change but not an all day vape.

I mixed some "M Type" tobacco mix but so far it has a strange taste which I can't describe. I will let it steep and try it later.

Catch you all later tonight.

When I started smoking again (after a 5 1/2 year quit) I quickly switched over to American Spirits yellow box because they said they didn't have additives. Not sure, but that may have helped me transition into vaping a little better than those cigarettes with additives.

Lucky you! My shipment was due yesterday but the dang post office sent it up to the north side of town. Hopefully tomorrow. Sorry to hear your cinnamon danish didn't come out very well. Mine came out most excellent. The best mix I've made yet.

I went to harbor freight after my hair appointment. I saw the little dremel tool, but decided against it. I did buy their $25 jewelry ultrasonic cleaner and have 3 juices humming away in it as I write this. It's annoying because it shuts off every 3 minutes. I didn't want to buy the bigger one for $75 so I guess I have to put up with it.

I bought another supply box for my DIY juices. Finally I have some organization with my new juice box!!!! :)

It's interesting that you said smoking American Spirits might have helped your transition to vaping. I think this is the theory behind WTA (whole tobacco alkaloids), which we discussed not long ago.

That box is so neat! Literally and figuratively. My stuff is in a round tin, the kind you get fruitcake in at Christmas. There are extra boxes and loose bottles scattered around. I do have it all in a shelf in my home office, though -- it's not scattered around the house.

To carry my stuff, I bought a long cloth pouch with a zipper. Not so fancy as everyone else's setup, but it works. Funny story about that pouch, which I told way back when, but enough new people are on here now that only a few may remember. I was in a gifty little shop in town, looking for something to carry some e-cigs around in. I saw some of these cloth pouches and thought they'd work. The pouch is like a long change purse, about as big as those wallets where you don't have to fold the bills. Anyway, there I was in the store, looking over the pouches, and I liked the one I have best, so I decided to get it. I could feel something inside it, but I figured it's that stuffing they put in such things to make them keep their shape. I bought it and brought it home and emptied out that "stuffing," which turned out to be a baggie of pot! I think it was probably old and stale, but I gave it to a friend who would appreciate it.

I just added another 5% Cinnamon Danish, and a few drops of Bavarian Cream. It is coming along! I like STRONG flavor.

Could you post your recepie and percentages?

Any gorilla glue users out here? I just picked some up. I've never used it before. I'm wanting to use it to cover some holes up on my T3. It says to wipe it with water first??? If anyone has used this on T3's, can you help a confused gal out? Thank you!

Cotton candy is ethyl malto - they are the same thing.

15% is a pretty high percentage. If yo go too strong the flavor actually stops working for some reason [that is all flavors not just Cinnamon DAnish.]

I don't know what percentage you used in your M type but that one is very strong and it absolutely must steep:)

American Spirits would burn slower and I'd always be the last smoker to put their cigarette out. My old favorite was Marlboro Lights. I noticed if I chained smoked them I'd always get a headache. But not with Am Spirits. I really think those chemicals play havoc with your system especially when trying to quit. What scares me is that a BT company bought American Spirits and I've always been leery that they were going to slip some of their chemicals in.

Great story on your pouch! That tickled me! :)

I used Lizzie's recipe on her blog. I used TFA cinn danish.

I just rub an unscented candle over the hole on the T3. The wax fills in the hole and it stays put until you use a toothpick to take it out. Quick, fast and easy peasy!
