<<<fans self>>> OOooOOoooh, THAT is sexy!

I haven't bought beans to grind in a while - I'm on a tight grocery budget - and coffee has gotten expensive. I keep reminding myself that in just 9-10 years, we'll be RICH because the boys will be gone and we won't be kicking money at their education. lol And I have never roasted my own. That sounds like something I could get into lol.

I started roasting about 10 - 12 yrs ago with one of these roasters I got on ebay (search coffee roasters theres a lot under 50 bucks usually) for 50 bucks Nesco Coffee Roaster - Air Roasters - Coffee Roasters
In the long run it is about 1/3 of the cost of buying preroasted coffee and its actually fun. When I started the green beans were dirt cheap but now that its trendy the green beans are going up.

My old job at (a facility which shall remain nameless) had an excellent coffee mess. I'm not normally a coffee drinker, but the quality of options was enough to sway me into having a cup or two or five. My new contract has rudimentary coffee facilities and I've gone back to not drinking any. I'm not a big fan of Starbucks, but 8'oclock seems to be one of my favorites.

I do my coffee the starbuck way 1oz shots and the longer they back the beans the less caffeine it has or that's what I was told when I worked there. So mild coffee has more caf than bold. I looked it up online once to. Sounds crazy but kinda makes since.

Thats true the lighter the roast the more caffeine - it burns away on darker roasts - thats why most breakfast blends are light roasted. I myself prefer a medium full city roast :)

Well, it depends on the beans, too. A dark-roast robusta is still going to have more caffeine than a light-roast arabica. All things being equal, a lighter roast will tend to retain more caffeine than a darker roast; but there are too many variables to simply say the lighter the coffee the more caffeine.

Doesn't matter to me, anyway--I don't drink coffee for the caffeine. I really only drink coffee a couple times a week--my caffeine comes from Ale-8 and I generally have enough in my system that it takes a couple cups of Turkish coffee for me to feel any caffeine-related effects.

I find Sponge Bob hilarious but understand. Many parents, in my day, did not let their kids watch the Muppets because here is a LOT of ADULT humor in them. Rewatch some the old ones ;)

Spongebob reminds me of a Bipolar Sociopath at the peak of his high...
