Lynlee - I'm sorry to hear the news of your home. I never really stayed in one place for long growing up, but I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, so I consider that my childhood home. I remember when they were thinking of selling it, the pain of losing all those memories to a different family was really hard to deal with, I don't know what I would do if it had to be torn down. I guess just remember that memories are in your heart, and just because a certain place might trigger them, doesn't mean they reside there. Lots of love to you, my wonderful friend ♥

I'm back. Luckily the ER trip went SUPER fast. It was amazing. Anyway, it's NOT broken, apparently there are some MILLION ligaments and bones and muscles in your feet, it's like a very very carefully balanced ecosystem. I went to the Adirondacks over the weekend, and while I was there I did a 3 mile hike over rocky terrain with my husband in... Boots. Not hiking boots, either. They're not even really snow boots. They're just dressy fur-lined warm boots, and are NOT meant to be warn exclusively for 3 days straight. They did a CT scan and found several muscles were contracted (like a cramp that wont go away) and several 'stressed' ligaments. All that combined made for a VERY FREAKING PAINFUL experience. Like, guys.. I've never felt pain like that beofore, ever. It still hurts, but we got me a foot brace and a shoe insert to wear that makes walking WAAAY more tolerable.

Moral of the story - Wear proper footwear. Seriously.

LOL is what I'm always trying to tell my 15---almost 16 yr old........he doesn't get it! Maybe I should let him read ur post

aww, thanks Sall. It's just a very helpless feeling to know that the house is damaged beyond repair. I literally watched it start crumbling while I was still living there. I tried to enlist help from Habitat for Humanities, the city Trustee and several others but got no assistance. About 4 years ago my mom got really sick and had to be hospitalized for 5 weeks, the doctors never pinpointed an exact cause but I know it was from breathing in the mold from the roof leaking onto the insulation blown crawlspace.

With the notice we got there were some pics of the inside of the house which I haven't seen in over 2 years, very very sad. I had lived there since I was 5 months old.

Morning everyone! Another half day of work and then I get to go home & start spackling & painting! Went to Lowes last night and had a rough time picking through paint colors, but I think I'm going with Valspar swampwater. I wanted a golden color with green in it and it seems to fit the bill. I decided that after I got little bucket samples of 5 other colors, though!
