Oh we do - even if it's cool! They have a 2 hour over ride - so I don't even have to remember to reset them. But it can take forever to get the temp down to bearable!!! These are model homes so they have no curtains. They bake when it's sunny. The reps offices aren't in the house - they convert the attached garages to offices and have separate a/c units. Most of the time, they don't have a clue how hot the house is unless the "office" faces the sun.
It's only miserable for a couple of months. lol
A local weather guy says to enjoy it now - they are predicting a horrible winter due to all the volcanic eruptions etc. NOT a fan of that prediction. Especially with a new driver in the family. Yeah, I'm THAT mom. Already worrying about DS#1 driving in snow lol.
Jordon I'm with you! It's suppose to be hot in July. And we have a/c so all is good.
My MIL has 2 window units and takes great pride in NOT using them. She's coming to visit this weekend (pray for me btw) and is already making noise about "how do we stand to have the a/c on all the time?" - She stays in DS#1's room so she can open a window if she wants. The "guest room"'s window is 2 feet away from the whole house a/c unit box - the noise drove her crazy(ier) the first summer she visited.
She, my SIL and DH were suppose to finish the KY Bourbon Trail this weekend that they started last summer. (3 more distilleries) now she's saying she may stay home with me and the boys. WTH?! I have serious concerns about being able to monitor what I say for that long. There is some family drama going on - and she's shoved her nose in it - I've been working hard to stay out of it and NOT pee her off by saying - stay out of it - it doesn't involve YOU!! (sigh)

okay- who stole my get up and go? I went to town and got that done- forgot the stuff for stuffed bacon wrapped peppers for the meeting tomorrow- (yep, I said BACON)
Approved the Trifold brochure and am STILL not working on the stupid cakes. Uggggggg.... I hvae GOT to get busy. I did buy a new lock though.
And my kids just managed the 'scathed' part of their day...... Depending on what they broke while running through the laundry room, 'scathed' might be the least of their worries....
Its hot here- like 100's hot. but thats just part of life. We run AC about 10 months out of the year. and honestly, run it at least a few days in those other 2 months.... LOL

Clay, I like to change them. I have soo many pics why use just one? Lol. Besides, weirdo's think twice when they see huge dogs weighing more than they do.
Seriously, the dogs are great watch dogs too. They would let anyone come into my house. But they won't let them leave til a family member opens the door. It's funny to watch.

Wow I bid a job a year ago and lost it to a competitor who was half my price. The customer called today - He did the locks a year ago and never finished the job or gave them any keys and yet for some reason they paid the bill 
- Now I'm the bad guy because I want them to pay me for the work to fix his mess 
Home Depot and Lowes sell locks from China that they cant even duplicate keys for and people get mad at me instead of them
Is it me? Am I missing something? Was there some special stupid pill that everyone got but me?
Do I need a prescription for it? Can someone PIF me a few?

I've been in that position before with some networks I bid on back in the day. The client ended up calling me up a year later (sometimes less) to let me know the job wasn't either done right or wasn't even completed. Then they wanted me to pick up where the other guy left off or run off my initial bid. Sometimes they don't understand that initial building of a system is different than tearing down an old system and building it back up. Sometimes the cheapest bid isn't always the smartest choice.
I just recently changed our home locks, it was a PITA to find old fashioned ones with fixed keying -- the big box stores are all carrying mainly the crappola easy-to-change ones (with horrendous track records in the field).
Well, cut her a little slack on the AC front. I can't STAND constant AC. I have sensitive ears and the air that comes out of them is stale and dries out my nasal passages.
I feel for you about the family drama though. Dh and I stay out of his family's drama as best we can, but it's hard when we go to family functions. Most have figured out not to get us involved if they don't want to hear the honest truth about it. The way I see it you have two choices, either put your foot down about drama in your house, or give her your honest opinion and let her know that's the last you will discuss it. That's what I would do anyway. I was having pretty bad stomach problems when bil was married to his last wife from biting my tongue all the time. It's just not worth it IMHO.

They need to yell at someone, and the yelling at China isn't really satisfying. Just tell them t call you when they've calmed down.
