isit okay to bring wine to church... the priest does it

It is ok for YOU to bring the wine? the preist also burns incense so, Is it ok to everybody else to burn tobacco? even a lot of anti-tobacco laws allow the burn of incense especificly in worship places, because incense also produce "second hand" smoke and the smoke of EVERY burning material can produce cancer, but the laws allow it for respect to the beleives of the people.

The whole point is RESPECT, or can you go to your friends house and get naked without his permission?

If a crackhead walked into church, I imagine he would at least be escorted to some private or non-invasive area...not just plunked down in the middle of members there and their families.

Well, maybe if he's willing to put the pipe down, he'll be welcome to join in. I agree he needs help but flopping someone smoking a crack pipe, or a joint, or a naked person (or whatever) down in a pew next to me and my kids during a Mass service is not my idea of helping him/her.

it's the intolerent nature i'm seeing that i have a problem with.. not rules of common courtesy.. im not argueing with the tools of my opinion of wrong and right... im arguing with the tools given to me by the teachings of the word of christ.. and yes.. i seperate the word of god with the word of christ because quite frankly.. the bible says so if you choose to be "CHRISTian"

overall i'm pretty much done with this thread... because it's not going to get anything accomplished... if Jesus himself can't teach you tolerence.. i'm going to come a might bit shy of it myself.

but in closing... i must point out.. that i feel alot of suppossed christians have gone VERY astray of the MEANING of the word.. one doesn't pick and choose what to follow.. you either do it or you don't.. and if you're not going to practice tolerence.. you are sorely lacking in the intent of the new testament and the techings of the very man/spirit/diety you have chosen to follow.. so please... refrain from a pity prayer for me.. because even as an agnostici have faith that if there IS a one true god.. he has my best interests more at heart than you ever will.. and am quite sure where i'm going after it's all over

Tauk, you make it sound like I'm saying to take the guy out and stone him! You really don't see any other alternative to helping someone like your example other than to just throw him in with the rest of the congregation? And anything less is intolerance? I'm sorry this logic makes no sense to me. Or are you just trying to make a point?

In any event, I am done with this too. 3 things I never get into debates about: religion, politics and abortion.......because I usually feel like I'm doing this

I went to church every Sun for 17 years. Then I told my parents I was bisexual. My mom told me I should prob not go to church anymore because God thought homosexuality was wrong. At the time I was engaged to a beautiful woman and I thought God was wrong (I still thnk that it is crazy to think if God created homosexuals... he could condemn homosexuality!) so I stopped going to church. I still do't go because I think church is stupid. I can worship God anywhere and no one will tell me not to love women or tell me not to vape! So... I believe in a higher power. I believe in a Christian God... BUT... I do NOT believe God wanted us to condemn homosexuals to hell and forgive pedophiles. That is ... freakin backwards.

Believe it or not I am a music director in my church and here is where I stand with the question of vaping in church.

Many churches are large enough to hold offices, meeting spaces etc. In such places I do not see a problem.

In the church itself durring service...Not good. Church goers that go to church every sunday know that for the time that they are there, it's all about their relationship with God and the utmost respect for him and his presence is demanded. Those that are in the "know", know that our addiction to nicotine and e-cigs, analogs, or anything else for that matter is a behavior that needs to be corrected.

Now, of course, we are not perfect so if we do smoke/vape, it's best to be done in designated areas.

Wearing a nicotine patch or vaping an e-cig is in my opinion a way for us to "correct" our addiction to nicotine. However, let's be real, a nicotine patch is more tolerable than someone actually vaping durring a service. A nicotine patch releases nicotine over time to help one with their withdrawal symtoms. An e-cig is there for us to get "our hits" whenever the urge arises, just like an anlog cig.

Now for those who only go to church for weddings and the occassional Easter Sunday, out of respect to all in the Church, and for God, whether or not you believe in him or not, if you need to vape, just get up and go outside. It's ok. No one is going to crucify you for going outside to vape.

For the sound engineer, vaping durring service? Feeling guilty? I think that says it all.

For the jokesters out there, be nice please. There are many people on this forum that are Church members and will find those jokes a little offensive.

For those that claim that they are going to hell, I got news for you. Just repent. Say I'm sorry, and go on with your life. Whatever you did, it shall be forgiven. Don't keep repeating those words to yourself because it may actually happen and I'm sure that is one place you do not want to find yourself in

I have been a smoker for years. I also believe that God has led me on to ecigs. I was praying for an alternative. I agree with Blue knight on everything. I am a christian but i dont believe that vaping in church is appropiate. I wouldnt smoke an analog in any other non smoking area why would you vape in church? My church has smokers they just smoke outside. Maybe I need to let them know about vaping. They are always looking for a excuse to still smoke lol. There are people on this forum that are bible believing christians. If you dont agree with us fine, but please respect pur believes. If we where bashing that athiest we would never hear the end of it.

I get naked everywhere without permission... but I do have respect in a house of God.. regardless of the fact that religion has "shunned" me. I would not walk into an AA meeting with a 6 pack and ask if anyone wanted a beer. Just a matter of what is right and wrong or appropriate.

to be honest.. your post isnt making much sense to me... first off.. i dont recall adressing you... secondly.. i believe ive been overly tolerent..especially after being reffered to as "teenage midned".. i guess that's code for childish... if you're going to randomly join the thread and get angry.. i believe you're tolerence is definately lacking and it may be in the best of interests to get the facts straight.. especially since i've been nothing less or more than polite in my phrasing and wording and quite toolerant of differing opine..
