Cigar Manufacturer fights back against Waxman
Prime Time sends own letter to the FDA in response to congressman, CDC's claims
http://www.cspnet.com/news/tobacco/articles/cigar-manufacturer-fights-back-against-waxman

http://www.cspnet.com/sites/default/files/Prime Time FDA Letter.pdf (Prime Time letter to FDA Commissioner Hamburg)

Since the FDA has stated its intent to propose/approve a "deeming" regulation to apply Chapter IX of the FSPTCA to all unregulated tobacco products (including cigars and e-cigarettes), and since Waxmans letter urged FDA Commissioner Hamburg to swiftly issue the deeming regulation, this is pertinent to potential e-cigarette regulation in the US.

After reading this, I wonder why the CDC does such a narrow analysis, compared to the SAMHSA reports? Or why there are two (or more?) agencies doing similar research? It seems to me, with the history of the SAMHSA reports, and the data already present, that CDC time would be better spent either analyzing the SAMHSA data, or perhaps focusing on disease control and prevention??

Because Obama appointees at CDC are advocating the "deeming" regulation that is being pushed by Obama appointees at FDA, higher taxes on cigars, and for more funding so they can continue making more false and misleading claims to confuse the public and to achieve their abstinence-only anti-tobacco agenda.

To these people, disease control is equal to people control. All they seek to do is control people's actions to create their own Utopia, where no one uses tobacco of any sort yet the revenues they're addicted to keep magically streaming in.
While I appreciate Prime Time using their own arguments against them, I grow tired of this atmosphere we seem to have grown accustomed to where we have to grovel at the feet of the government, at all levels, to retain just a bit of freedom to do as we wish without punitive taxes being laid upon us to try and mold us into nice quiet subservient sheep. For our own good, of course.
I've heard that this country used to actually stand for freedom from government interference. Our government is a disgrace.

And this is exactly why Cass Sunsteen is the most dangerous man in America today

Well then we need to do more to educate the public in general, and no longer accept everything the government does/says as gospel (in general).
