The metal piece has nothing to do with anything but poke through the rubber sleeve that sits on the post.It keeps the rubber off the post and provides a lip in case a little juice squeezes in between the mouthpiece and the rubber. You can just wipe it off and set it to the side. I let it soak all night. Probably should have rinsed it in water before popping it in the alcohol bath. Everything else came out fine. I noticed that little part turned a darker color. The taste will probably go away with time.

they can be just as fiddley. Taste is really good. Not as warm as a ce2 because you are a good inch and a half or more away from the coil.
+1 for having a removable wick, although I haven't done it with these yet. My 5 pack arrives today. I'm sure I'll have tinkered with one of the two I have now within a weeks time.

Sometimes they leak....most times they don't as long as you don't try to fill all the way to the top line and don't screw on too tight. Remember they twist off. If you pull the top right off, you screw up the seal. Once leaking starts though, it continues and all you can do is drain and dry and start over.

Anyone ever try these?

KR808DM-1 ClearoCartos

there is a skinny and a fat batt version, look interesting

I've got some. They are an improvement over earlier versions (G4?) that did not have the funnel shaped center tube. ...less likely to draw juice flavor up the center tube. However, I'm having leakage problems.

Those are the elite clear and easy. They also sell the 2ml cartos that go on the elite as well. I don't know if they get them from the same place, though. And they sell the PV as 808-DM1

Perhaps a little added evidence/clarification... The 2nd of these to leak began just after an inadvertent dry burn. I failed to observe that it had nearly run out of juice as it was still hitting okay. I filled it up and it then leaked from the battery hole, I believe. I don't recall the circumstance of the first leaker.

I've been using the Clear and Easy's for 3 days now and I loved them on 1st use, but man these are just dreadful.

I want to love them, but after the 2nd fill on the 1st one I used it is leaking profusely and is unusable.

The 2nd one I tried I filled and capped and immediately is leaking profusely.

I am being exceptionally careful capping them and using the method of pushing up on the bottom with a pencil eraser that SSV2 suggested to me and it was pouring liquid right from the jump.

I also was told to blow through them to clear the air tube.
Well, you can literally blow the entire tank of liquid through them until it's empty.

I think I lost 2ml of juice trying to get these to work.

There's something to be said about being careful lining up the holes and what not and instead needing the skill and steady hand of a bomb squad diffuser to keep from breaking them.

They're great in concept, awful in execution.

I really, really want to love these, but I feel like I just set fire to $15.

I take it once they're leaking like this they're broken and unfix-able?

At $3 a pop I'm not taking kindly to these being so finicky and delicate.

Someone tell me I'm overreacting and they're fixable and not permanently broken...

That's really why I'm not fond of bottom coil clearos. If the wick takes in too much juice, it's going to drip and there is no way to mod these. You have to let them dry completely and start again. Once a drip starts it just sets a path and pulls more juice behind it. At least with a top coil, it has to travel the length of the tube if it develops a leak and there's time to catch it. The coil on a bottom coil is directly over the hole at the bottom. And it's always an overwicking problem. Only way to fix them is to fluff up or replace the wick and you can't do that on a bottom coil because it's sealed in. Unless there's a way to wiggle off the shell on yours.

How are you enjoying the elite battery?

So these 2 that are leaking like this are pretty much to be thrown out now?

As for the Elite battery, I have nothing to compare it against but it's working excellent so far.

When I got the kit in both batteries were charged to 2 out of 3 LED dots.
I immediately plugged one in to charge and started vaping a prefilled cart they sent me for free with the other one while I let a regular cart sit for a few hours after filling it and letting a Clear and Easy sit for about an hour before using it, which I am still not sure if you have to do.

I then switched to the Clear and Easy for awhile til I vaped about 2 thirds of the tank, then switched to a different flavor I had filled the cart with.

That battery that was probably somewhere between 2 thirds and 3 quarters full lasted me from about 2:30PM til like 3AM and then some light vaping the next day for a few hours, I was really surprised!

The other battery I'm still using and it just went down to 1 LED dot left about an hour ago when I plugged it on to charge and now have swapped back to the fully charged original.

I am using it quite frequently too. Not chain vaping or anything, but steady.

The throat hit and vapor it's been providing is very good, to note I'm using their 24mg liquid, which I've learned for me is definitely too harsh and strong, although I've been getting used to it a little.

The 3 push on off works flawlessly as well.

The 2ml whistle tip carts work great! They are definitely a lot better on vapor production and throat hit compared to the tanks when the original tank I filled was working really good, they are also a ton better then the standard 808 prefilled cart they sent me.

Their customer service has been really good thus far too. They threw me a couple goodies and SSV2 has been great about answering a ton of questions I'm annoying him with. Also, they did forget something in my order, but cleared it up fast and supposedly it's in the mail on it's way here now.
SSV2 has been quite timely about answering any and all emails, which I've probably sent him at least a dozen or so already lol.

So, bottom line so far the kit/battery is great, their customer service has been great, but I'm quite disappointed in these tanks and will not be ordering more from any vendor until I hear major improvements have been made.

Hey - I'm behind in the thread and could use a summation.

Has there been a consensus on what are good or the best clearos and ce2's? Are there any that are good to go without having to fiddle with them?

How do you clean them?

To date I've only tried the Fluxomizer 808s and Iturbos (for about a day on the latter)

both excellent. def require some tinkering and caution with respect to leaks. but the flavor is incredible, as is the vape. they eat juice fast for some reason :)

Just wanted to let everyone know I uncapped an Iturbo that I've been hammering since last night and dry burned. SLIGHT discoloration of the wicks OUTSIDE of the coil area (laterally on both sides) but nothing major. The location leads me to believe its harmless coloring, not actual singe (if that even exists lol)

Good as new :)

If you are just going to pitch them, perhaps you'd be willing to tear one apart for science. The 2 I took apart left me with a nice functional coil on a 808 thread. The wick was good. There was a little filler that took juice that fed from the little holes.
Everything was sealed so there was no way to reassemble.

Some advice as you continue on your vapor trail. Never throw out anything. It may come in handy someday. Get yourself a little tackle box with dividers that you can move around.

Of course before you give up on those clearos too quickly, you can try rinsing them out and letting them dry. Perhaps you need to try a thicker juice in them. How much vg is in your juice now. I know they suck at wicking 100% vg so maybe there's some middle ground between no wicking and wicking too much.
