Authentic made in china is not the same as clone made in china. You should go back to school.

This is what will destroy our right to vape. Look at all the cheap made in China mods you so love and then try and stop laws from being passed. Why should I pay $200.00 for a safe mod when the kid next door only paid $12.00 for his?

When is the last time you heard of any dangerous mod failure that wasn't caused by user error?

Willy,

I do believe that the rules you are describing above relate to copywrite not trademark.

I'm also quite sure that nobody likes seeing logos so you're preaching to the choir on that. Finally, something most everyone agrees on. The relevance of agreement is that you KNOW that the manufacturers monitor this forum. I've even been contacted by one of them as a result of my posts.

Yes, he is describing copyright ©

When have you bought a mod that contained any instructions at all about safe battery use, what batteries to use or how to charge them safely? Most of the user errors occur when buying cheap batteries from ebay and amazon and using cheap chargers. Oh wait I do know of one company that gives the buyer all the information.

Because it's so very difficult to learn the ins and outs of something unless the company you purchase something from tells you everything? How many authentics even do that?
Most of the user errors come from people trying to chase the cloud, building far too low for their gear.... Just as much of a risk in authentics.
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

The only difference between the Tobeco KF4 and the SM one is about $160.

Not trying to be argumentative ricks, but the only way you can say that with any integrity is if you've owned both, built both, and spent enough time to make an educated opinion. It's no diff than if an auth owner says the tobeco is a pos. Morality issue taken out of the equation here, people can choose to buy what they want and it's non of my business.

I had one mod spontaneously burst into flames sitting in my vape stand. I don't see how I could have caused that.

At any rate, I've learned the manufacturer and even the retailer could be held liable even if user error was the cause. So, if I want to sell mods they would need a very well written user manual warning buyers of every potential problem that may occur, and probably a huge liability policy just in case.

Now I know why my Triumph motorcycle manual is filled with warnings that I thought were ridiculous such as, "Rider and passengers should not sit on the windshield. This could lead to loss of control, leading to injury or death."

No argument here Mtek. Have you compared a Tobeco with the SM? The only difference I see is that the SM has been buffed a little more giving it a smoother finish. Everything else was the same.

I own both, my opinion is the auth is better in every way. The question becomes how much better its worth is subjective, but to me it's worth every cent. I'm not saying the tobeco isn't a nice peice here either. It is a great value. I will admit, I'm leaving my morality issues out of this too, but it's hard because I see value in genuine stuff.

I don't think my Tobecco k 4 is perfect. But, it works, looks ok, and I haven't had to replace or fix anything. And it didn't have black, caked on machine oil stuck up the chimney  So it fits the bill for someone wanting to try one cheaply. And now that they have no logos, that's great. I admit, I'm not going to toss the one I have to get a non logoed one now because if I want to keep using it I'll get an authentic. But, its too bad the non logoed one wasn't available when I got this one.

Oh, this is interesting, at least for me who has been mulling this over. The HCigar k4 was available with your choice of: fake SM logo, HCigar logo or no logo. Its only been for sale in the US a couple/few weeks. I went to find a pic of it for this thread and all the non logoed and HCigar logoed ones were sold out. I think that kind of supports my theory that Americans don't necessarily want fake logos.

Totally off topic, I just have one Q:
What is that pink item?
