According to some here, that just can't be..... We all just want to pretend we have something we don't.![]()
I don't know about mod makers. Guitar makers have, little by little, moved to China, too. Epiphone, which has been owned by Gibson for some time. They first had them made in Japan, and they were excellent guitars and are still highly sought after. Then they went to S. Korea, and they were still pretty good guitars. Now they're made in China, and you can tell. Although I'm pretty sure Gibson still retains the name and profits.
This happened with hi fi loudspeakers around 10-15 years ago. Quad, and I'm sure a lot of other brands by now, moved production out of the UK and into Shenzen. More profit for the maker. I'm against it. If you're moving production so you can sell me quality product at a lower price fine, but if you moved production to put more money into your pocket I am not going to subsidize your taking jobs away from families for the sake of profit and will gladly spend more elsewhere to support my principles.
But, then...you can't buy generic or rebranded groceries, medications, paper products, etc. If you don't or never have, then I'll listen to you.
Cloud,
Ricks is giving you accurate info; ignore the others.
The Kayfun 4 design can be a bit overwhelming at first with all the twisting, turning, trying to get to the air flow control, etc., but there's plenty of good videos to help you out. I own the Tobeco brand of it as well and can speak to the quality of the materials first-hand. The steel used is good. Nearly all steel comes from Asia, it has since the end of WWII. The steel used in the Svoemesto KF4 likely comes from the same Asian steel mills as the Tobeco product. Beyond that, there's really not much to these things anyway, just some tube and threads really.
Good luck
Cloud forget what Ernie says as he has no facts to prove his dream of where steel comes from. He must be thinking that Germany was banned from producing steel after world war II. German steel is the backbone of the German economy, and the largest producer of steel in the EU.
You mistakenly think that ProVape is the only vendor to do so,..and that's just not the case..REO's Mod's,.. Peter Dibi,..and Sigelei do as well..Those first two vendors will except a broken mod and fixes it fr you..Does upgrades as well..I'm not knocking ProVape..but I've never heard you could send your V2 in and have it upgraded to a V3, or did I miss something?!?
I bet they all do it...
You are the clone expert. I want to purchase a Kayfun Lite clone. The best clone for the best price. I'll be honest about why as I want to take it apart and sand down the chimney on it to see if it is brass underneath or SS. I know the Nautilus chimney was advertised as SS and in actuality it was brass and coated with whatever to look like SS. I'll put it together, vape it, and then sand it down.
No you can't take a V2 and upgrade it to a V3. You could have sent in your V2 and upgraded to the 2.5. They are in business to make money so why would they continue to upgrade previous versions? If you look at that the 2.5 and P3 you can see it can't be changed. I never said Provape was the only one I was asked which company has safety instructions on using their mod and battery safety as well. I can only speak for Provape.
As far as the other poster who said he had a broken lens and wanted a replacement sent to him is silly. The warranty doesn't cover user abuse and how he intended to remove the screws and chip to replace the lens seems odd. Also odd is his 6 week wait as I know 2 weeks is top for sending a Provari in and receiving it back fixed and cleaned.
Vape equipment is not made with specialty steels; fact, undeniable, they are all basic stainless steel, the same stainless steel. Do your homework..
Correct me if I am wrong. Didn't you say you owned a Hana DNA 30? When pressed to post the picture you posted a Hana clone with a fake serial number on it. You most certainly prevented you owned something you didn't.
I suppose that depends on one's definition of "specialty", "basic" and "same".
Speaking just for the K4, the auth is made from 316, and I've seen clones advertising themselves as 304.
You are totally way off base about generic medications. Before a medication can be made as a generic the patent on the brand name has to run out. Lipitor is a prime example as it's generic is Clopidogrel. It's a substitute for Lipitor. It certainly was not available when Lipitor hit the market. No company would attempt to copy it as we do have rules for R&D companies in this country. If that was not the case no drug company would spend billions of dollars on drugs which can be copied the next day. I was on Lipitor for 5 years and received Lipitor only, now they fill the prescription with Clopidogrel. Pfizer would be out of business if clones were allowed and we wouldn't live as long.
