Hmmm. You guys should have been here for the old school clone arguments. They were pretty epic.

My feeling... Very good authentic stuff has gotten so cheap, there is really no reason to buy a clone. If you can't afford a high end authentic, there are better lower priced options now than ever. You can get a great vape on the cheap.

If however, you like the way a certain authentic looks, and you won't pony up the dough so you get the clone instead... Nowadays, I question that.

I think this was brought up once in this entire conversation, and I think it's important to bring up again as a matter of distinction, and that is the difference between cloning an item and counterfeiting it. Clones I can understand, when it's advertised as such and just enough different from the original as to be obvious. But what fries my fortune cookies is outfits counterfeiting goods and pawning them off as the real McCoy product. :grr:

I agree. Trying to sell them as a real McCoy is bs.

A realistically priced widely available authentic would make the clones pretty much non existent.

Limited availability, extreme pricing, and global hype create a demand, that the original Modder can't or won't fill.

This is why clones exist.

Then again, if the original Modder only makes 500 mods and sells them all, why care about clones?
The Modder has already made all the available profit.

The way i look at it the chinese are under cutting themselves. So the less money i spend in total is more i have for american products. It's the patriotic thing to do.
There actually is some perverse, working logic in that argument. Yeah, I like it. :D
