I'm often torn between originals and clones but I haven't invested in a mechanical mod yet... But I agree with people on here who say that the original deserves to be supported for many reasons. I also agree with clones mostly because of money. They cost a lot and many people simply cannot afford them and then to not like them or for it to be unusable makes spending that money worse. I would say clones are good because you can try many things out and not spend too much. But my personal gripe with clones, like it's been said here, is supporting counterfeiting and theft. But at the end of the day, it's up to everyone to just do what they want, for personal reasons, regardless of what anyone says. You and only you choose what to do and what to spend your money on, that simple.

It's not only China ... The Philippines has now gotten into the e-cig business too. But, I don't believe they are manufacturing any 'clones' as far as I know. They are manufacturing tube mods of there own design and selling them at a big big profit here in the US:

I lived in the Philippines for 5 years (2006 - 2011) ... The average Filipino factory worker in the Manila metro area makes about 250 Pesos ($5.70) per day.

These Filipino companies are making a KILLING on these mods you folks are buying from them!

Nope, there not clones per say ... but they are manufactured with very cheap labor, but selling them at "non-clone" prices.

tell that to Seventeenhundred Fabricators

I don't agree with the slave labor overseas or the exporting of jobs. But sadly I have no room to talk as long as I'm using electronic devices with components made from those very same factories with slave labor.

Like it or not China slave labor is a part of everyone's lives and is near impossible to avoid. This certainly doesn't make it right, but it's pretty hypocritical to shame clone buyers while typing on a device made by the same activities you are shaming.

I don't think it's wrong for anyone to buy a device or product made in China.

I think that it is wrong to support counterfeiting wherever it is made.

If the Chinese made quality mechs of their own design for $20 - $50, I would be a fan.

They don't. Every one is clone.

I really don't understand why they don't make their own designs. The are a few knife companies that make copies and also make their own. Which sell well in their own merrit.

I ate bacon with breakfast, and had a hamburger for lunch. In some parts of the world this is abomination X 2 and I still have one meal to go today. I will sleep peacefully tonight in spite of their opinion.

I will vape happily with my clone and not lose any sleep over what someone else thinks about them either...

Here's an original, well made SS mod for 50$
Hamoriko SS - Mini ECIG

Would you say that this manufacturer looses money, or maybe the other manufacturers make 4 times as much as they should.

The Hamoriko SS is quite a bit more simple than a Nemesis.

It's a good deal.

People over value themselves and their product. Let's compare today to 50 years ago. An excellent piece of furniture was about the same price as vapes now. I'm sure you can figure out the rest out my point.
I believe the average US wage was about $2.88 an hour in 1964.

Let's tag a price of $150 for a MOD in 2013 (we don't yet have inflation data for 2014).

According to the rate of inflation, that $150 in today's money was worth $1123 50 years ago. So yes, paying $150 for a nice piece of furniture in 1963 seems completely appropriate. That same $150 product today would have cost $20 in 1963. That too seems appropriate.

Bashing original mod buyers?
Really?
Most of the threads start when an owner of an Original mod starts degrading others for buying a clone.
It damages their sense of elitism and they begin the insults. "I have more money than you because I spent $300 on this (mod of choice)", or "since you can never afford..."
Clone owners then respond in kind.
Read the threads. It's all quite clear if you take the Time to look just who the instigators are.
;)

I've always said, it's your money, spend it how you like...... just don't expect me to spend mine based on marketing alone.

Well sadly it is quite normal that people with money will look down on those with less or no money... A man that makes 20.000$ a month is way less likely to help up a homeless who fell over than a person making 2.000$ a month...

Why?... People with money to spare gets distanced from reality and from the fact that not everyone can just throw money after what they actually want and has to settle for less or nothing at all... A reason for all the rage over original versus clone can be traced back to the fact that alot of those that has a collection of beautiful original 2-400$ mods feels like those of us that buys clones have not earned the right to the luxury...

Personally i feel that mentality is some serious male cow droppings... I would rather see a person that has crawled through all sorts of nasty things be given a month of my own salery than loan an overclass snob an umbrella i just found on a rainy day...
If yoy havent been through all hell and come back youre not in a position to judge others on their actions

I highly doubt it since i was born into lower middle class, ended up as a poor person for quite a while and learned how to survive with a fishing rod and now im a lower class person...

Im sure i would end up excentric and downright bonkers with a house entirely made of used coffeemakers
