Why buy a Toyota?
Because I can't afford a Lexus.

LMAO
Yep exactly!!!

Except Lexus is a brand created for the western market.
There is no Lexus brand sold in Japan.
It's just Toyota.
Same with Acura and Infinity.

Names and hype to sell you the same MODEL cars that are labled as toyotas, Hondas and Nissans in Japan .

;)

Not sure why you are directing that at me, when i used to smoke it cost $13 a pack and i used to smoke 2 packs a day.

The user name, not the IRL name :)

And wow....that's ALOT for some cigs

At any rate, it's amazing the kinks people will work through to justify purchasing products that are ripoffs of originals.
If you are the kind of person that is OK with buying counterfeits, it's not like anything said on a forum will change your morality with the issue.
As I said, if the clone makers would just release their OWN design, instead of fakes, I wouldn't have problem with it.
Hypothetical poverty is no justification for counterfeit.....ahem...clones. Next we will be buying clones for the children.

I look at it as having a daily driver/beater and the nice luxury/sports car.

I use my legit mechs on the weekends or when hanging out with vape friends. When I got to school/work, I use my clones. I don't care if the clones get dropped/beat up/ scratched.

I'm also the kind of guy who runs legit BBS wheels on his car in the summer and runs rep wheels in the winter.

Ah sorry bout that :) And fyi there up to $14.28 a pack now, gotta love that tax. If i saved the money I used to spend on smoking in a month i could buy a solid gold Caravela. I'm sure it will hit eliquid, soon it'll be a buc a vape. At which point i'll have dual micro coils at .3 so i can suck up a hole tank in one hit ;) that'll .... em.

These discussions although interesting will be argued til we die heh.

Authentic mod folks feel the need to bash clones to justify getting ripped off lol.

US made car buyers will try to justify american cars with power instead of reliability lol.

Most americans use outsourcing to asia or mexico to reduce margin for higher profit without telling consumers. I'd stick to clones personally until authentic top tier mechs become around $80-$120 standard.

I own no clones atm but I ordered one last week for this express purpose. Nothing like waking up with a massive hangover to realize your $350 ecig is laying under a bar stool somewhere. I've done this once and it hurts a lot lol

Niether side should bash one another. I don't believe that "clones" should copy the original without at least paying something to the original maker. But I try to express that idea politely.

As for being made in China, I do believe that outsourcing companies should pay a tax penalty...as for feeling ripped off, I have some idea of the costs and effort behind a small operation machining out high end mods....and I don't feel ripped at all.

And there are good mech mods for your price range. Super-T makes a great mod for that price range

Maybe if you're in the usa i paid $223.38 for each of my Super-T mods only place i could get them that would ship here was Super T Precise Simpicity - Cloud 9 Vaping

Plus another $16 bux in postage

That said very happy with super-t used them every day for a couple of years and there still perfect. In this case i don't feel ripped off at all i'm happy with what i got.

Right here:

https://www.supertmanufacturing.com/#wf188

bought one for $138USD plus shipping...but I have seen 18350 mods for $99USD

I love mine as well :)

Good to see another Simplicity vaper

Mebbe you could get someone to buy it here in the states and ship it to you

edit

I was just messing around on the site - it's not letting me navigate around. Must be to do with the week delay they have posted.

They carry one of their units for right around $100 - saw it last week when I was thinking of getting one of their polished atty

It's a lot easier to buy in the USA, unfortunately I don't know anyone over that side of the pond :(

That $138 to you is for me $138 + $39 shipping + $37 tax + $10 handling fee. = $224 which is what i paid for mine at cloud9, so i don't feel ripped of in any way. it's not super-t's fault it's not cloud9's fault its just welcome to europe, the place where we love to make everything expensive.

If anyone is looking for a mod and they live in the USA $130 for the super-t 1860 is a bloody bargain these things are extremely well made and just do not break. It may well be the last mod you ever buy:)

Here is mine with an original DID on the top before they started with the engraving. In fact i just looked at the date on the photo 2012 i have that exact same mod and atomiser in my hand right now lol

Well I am a college student and just to be blunt. I cannot yet justify myself spending almost an entire months rent on a mod when I can get something that performs well for a 10th of the price. One day I HOPE to be able to affor the high end real mods, but it's just not plausible on my budget. That being said, i'm not justifying that clones are out there. My only wish is that clones would not use the name/logo of the original manufacture. They could use thier own logo such as the Russian 91% did. I don't think it's necessarily right for people to make clones but from a consumer stand point I should not have to be made guilty with buying something in my budget range. Yes we should all support the makers of these wonderful mods, and one day I hope to. :D
And I live in georgia, where my prefered cigarettes were 3.00 a pack. Even looking at a monthly range that is just at 100 dollars which doesn't come entirely close to some real mods.

Sent from my iPhone because I'm awesome like that.

That argument doesn't really hold water, a lot of the people i know have been trying to give up because they can't afford to smoke anymore. They need that money for food and rent. Therefore there is no money to go in the bucket in the first place.

In the UK right now there are over a million people using food banks just to get enough to eat, look around, a lot of people are now spending their cigarette money on other fun stuff like eating and staying warm. I buy originals because i'm lucky enough to be able to afford it sounds like you are as well, which is great. Nice to see someone with some extra money these days.

Dave

When you don't have enough money for essentials, vaping, smoking, drinking, etc. just isn't an option is it?

There is never a good reason to support theft, I don't care how broke you are. Some things are just wrong.

Seriously if your running such a tight budget luxury stuff like vaping needs to step aside a while while you get the rest of your life in order.

There are lots of things I can't afford so I just don't buy them. However, I bought my clone to test the waters of mechs. I like them and ordered an original. Had I not had the option of testing out the clone I probably would never have bought an original.

I had no idea that the Magneto was so cheap. At less than $50 I don't see how any vaporer could not afford to own one. Paired with an Igo-w, makes an awesome setup for cheap.

Really now, facts are condescending?

The fact is there are many options to spend less on vaping than any mechanical mod clone or not. Mechanical mods require additional items and at the very least periodic maintenance.

All up a really cheap mechanical mod kit is going to run around $75 to be vape ready.

There are a whole slew of devices out there that will keep you vaping for less.

So that takes away your "I buy clones because I don't have much money" argument and replaces it with "I buy clones because I have a bit of expendable income and choose to spend it on fakes" there is no getting around the fact that it is a decision.

I'm not one to fall into anyone's pity party, we all have our own woes, be them living paycheck to paycheck or otherwise. If you want or need, quit looking for pity and do something about it; something honorable would be nice.

I'm much more likely to fawn all over a creative alternative that gets or keeps you vaping than someone spouting off about how their clone is so great.

Clones aren't great, they are little icons of theft. It doesn't matter if they work great, look beautiful, cost less, or save you enough money to put an extra meal in your mouth, they are wrong and disrespectful from the get go.

Laid, LOL yep no problem.
