Hey Waho
What a breath of fresh air to hear you talk about distributor's, timing, and the like. When I was younger my friends and I spent many a weekend working on our cars and trying to get every ounce of horsepower that we could. My buddy had a 1970 SS El Camino and it was a beauty! Good luck with you car and Thanks for the memories down roads past!
My dream car is a early 70's SS big block El Camino!
My current one is an 81 base model that the previous owner yanked the V6 and dropped a 285hp GM performance 350 long block into, then proceeded to screw up the rest haha.
It's a fun hobby, albeit an expensive one. Keeping automotive history alive and on the road is good thing though![]()
The best thing about the older cars is that you can make them what you want them to be. Not like todays car where everything is computerized. We loved hanging out and making mods to our cars. I had a 1973 Cutlass S with a 454 and Harley carb 3 pack. I had to pinch off 2 carbs to save gas!! But man when I opened her up she flew. Couldn't keep her straight even with the posi rear! Of course living in Brooklyn in the 70's & 80's nothing was sacred. They stole it and found just the shell in the Bronx about 3 months later. It was fun while I had her.
Here's a pic of my new toy that I bought this summer! Loving it!!!!
