coil winding question

Hi,
New to coil building in general..have read all the safety information and purchased ohm meter and coil jig, watched a ton of videos...but still
not sure of the # of turns. When you wind the wire say 6 wraps does that count include the wrap for the legs or just the # of turns between the connector legs?

Personally, I don't count the leg half wraps for the total, but others may do it differently.

For me if i say 6 wraps I am counting along the top of the coil. since the bottom of the coil is where the legs are pointing in the same direction there is one less wrap. You may see that listed from time ti time as 6 over 5 or 6/5 wraps.

I simply count complete turns as I'm wrapping them. A little easier on my OCD........

1 wrap is 1 time around the mandrel from point A back to point A. Since point A's, leg lengths and tensions vary, the results, from a # of wraps description also vary. this is why we have meters to check our coils.
