Finally got some time this morning to start my next batches. 4oz baby food jars hold about half the ounce bag. Since I'm not sure about the shelf life of this stuff, I decided to make smaller batches. That first batch of AmSpirit made a ton. I did PS 80 and Louisiana Red. Mid June should be ready.

I'm really enjoying this type of NET. The AS is an ADV now. I have two RSSTs and ordered two AGA T2s. I have found that genesis tanks don't suffer from vacuum pressure issues when I change altitude like BDC clearos and tanks. From what I read, Kayfuns et al have the same system. With the RSST I can wind a coil and twist a cotton wick in 10-15 minutes. I set up one for the wife for her Peanut Butter Cuppy and she loves it. It clogs Aspire BDC coils in days and I haven't found a good way to recoil them. At $2 a coil it gets spendy. I won't have to worry about fine filtering my NETs.

Yeah. I started using my Aspire Nautilus with only thin juice because of the expense of the coils. Not sure how it will go. IMO anyone using homebrewed NETs probably should invest in a good rebuildable atomizer. Heck any serious vapor should probably invest in a good rebuildable. Especially once they realize how easy it is to build a coil and maintain it.

I just started an extraction of an Ounce of RYO, a vanilla bean, 4oz of VG, a shot of Everclear and a shot of Sailor Jerry's rum to thin it out. The brewer in me is coming out lol. The whole process is very similar to making beer but on a smaller scale. I don't have a whole lot of time so I decided to heat extract it. I'm hoping it will be ready to vape in a couple weeks.

My next batch will probably be a pg based cold extraction.

Oh and to whomever was talking about hop juice....it's good but it stays with whatever it was used in. I had to rinse, recoil and rewick my dripper to totally get rid of the flavor. I would think this would be worse in plastic so be warned. Not a bad flavor overall. I think it was a Centennial and Simcoe mix. I didn't make it. It was a gift. I am pretty sure they cold soaked it because I got more floral notes than anything else. It was not bitter at all. I would probably try a heat extraction or at least a partial one for an hour or so to impart some bitterness to the juice. The flowery one reminds me a lot of hops close cousin from my younger years.

Thanks, glad you are enjoying it. And thanks for showing us how to do it.

I vaped Virginia Spice on Sat and switched to AmSpirit Sunday and today. When this tank is gone I'm going to try mixing in some perique.

My p&c order came with a catalog. Found the wife going through it. I told her the worst part is that you actually want to smoke the stuff it sounds so good. She agreed and said she had to put down the catalog because the descriptions sound so delicious.

I agree also! Some blends don't translate to a great vape but most do so it's easy to get lost in that catalog! As more people start extracting good blends, it makes it easier for all of us to trade some flavorful extracts. Glad I could be helpful in getting you started.:)

I love getting a new P&C catalog. It must cost them a pretty penny to produce a full color, 68 page slicker like that. I smoked a pipe back in the day and had a nice collection of Briar and Meerschaum pipes. But as beautiful as those pipes are, I am not the least tempted to go back. Vaping NET's made from all these tasty tobacco's is so much better, and healthier for sure. Besides, I have a Hammer and an e-Pipe. :vapor: :headbang:

Dont mean to .... in on your conversation, I have a couple of questions.....

1. What color does your NET end up being???
I have tried twice, the first ended up a nice golden color, it isnt powerful, but it is good, I just tried some with Desert Ship and RY4 mixed in and wow, it is really good.
I then tried a heated soak, 4 hours a day over 4 days, (crock pot, 125°F) definitely has to be "thinned" unlike the first go around, also has a good ashy taste to it.

And #2:
Do you guys just use your net, or do you mix in other flavors???

Thanks for your time....

Color of the extract will vary from a very pale yellow to almost black depending on the tobaccos in the blend and extraction method used. Cold macerations tend to yield lighter color extracts than heated macerations. Heating will caramelize some of the sugars in the tobacco blend and make them quite dark if overheated.

I don't add anything to most of my creations as I prefer straight tobacco but many add flavoring. It's your juice so make what you like!

Join right on in.

Since john has good luck with room temp and I don't have the patience for the heat methods I decided to try room temp. Really pleased with what I made compared to what you can buy. Plus I can adjust the extract amount, blend and nic level as I go. Later on I will probably try adding some other flavors to my stock but for now I am enjoying it straight.

Same here, I've had a much higher "hit rate" selecting tobaccos I know nothing about and extracting them, than buying from commercial vendors, much, much higher. It is empowering to be able to make your own juice, and your own ADV's. Even in Australia where tobacco sells for approx $1 a gram ($28 an ounce), I can buy 10gm samples of pipe blends (for $10 or $11 plus $9 shipping) and still come out way in front as far as cost is concerned, and have a very nice juice. My commercial juice consumption is now minimal, the NET's have totally taken over :)

I'm thinking that interest and involvement in making NETs has reached critical mass and is soon going to "take off".

ETA - I am so thankful to Johnni, Dustmight, Billherbst and Boomerdude for their help and willingness to share information on these forums, without that help I wouldn't be making any juices at all!

Local gas station store has American Spirit cig packs and I see the black pack. Wondering if it is worth $8 to cut open the sticks for the leaf.

Only you can answer that! You're well stocked with Am Spirit extract, have more tobaccos soaking, and the station will likely have stock in the future. On the other hand, if it makes your mouth water thinking about it, get some and start the soak right away!:D

Most machine-rolled cigs contain reconstituted tobacco, which makes me wary. I did a Bali Shag American Blend recently and its showing promise as a nice warm ciggy flavor as it steeps. If you want a ciggy "with balls" try some White Ox, to me it tastes at least half way to a pipe tobacco. Glad to see you are up and running Paul!

hey guys some pretty interesting stuff in this thread , i never tried the net stuff but while reading some ideas have came up , i have a food saver vacuum sealer and they have connectors for wine bottles and mason jars and just wanted to know if anyone has tried a cold vacuum to maybe get more nic or flavor and if the vacuum would shorten the steep time , just thought i would ask

The vacuum would pull out all the trapped air bubbles in the maceration, which could only be good I would think. Maybe you'd only need a vacuum for say 30 minutes to get all the trapped air out. Not sure what the vacuum would do to the tobacco leaf or how strong this vacuum is...interesting idea...

I've been lurking around this thread for awhile and thought I'd chime in. Used to be an avid pipe smoker back in the day and still have around eight pounds of various pipe tobaccos (mostly Lane), stashed. So far this year I've extracted Lane's 1Q mixed with a bit of Burley and found it to be quite good with a light to medium intensity much the same flavor impact I remember it having when smoked in a pipe. I extract for 30 days in 100% PG using low heat (90f) with an occasional gentle swirling stir. I mix the finished net at 20% but also add FA's Vienna cream, Holy vanilla and a bit of sweetener. To me, the end mix tastes a bit like H1N1 crossed with Vita Bella. Funny thing is what I desire in a vape is quite different than what I enjoyed as a smoker. I think I want to add a very light "cigar" note to my mix but none of my tobacco blends have that so guess I'll be shopping Pipes and Cigars dot com. I also want to try a few "full" bodied pipe tobaccos as I'm curious how they would taste when vaped. Anyway thanks to all who have contributed to this thread it has been interesting and informative to follow!

Hi Stra8, welcome. I recently extracted Hearth and Home Signature Virginia Spice, a Virginia/Perique blend with Maduro cigar leaf. It adds a subtle bass note, spiciness, and creaminess and I love it!

Full bodied pipe blends translate well into a vape in my experience. Strong English blends, Dark Fired Kentucky blends, Black Cavendish, and straight Perique for example, all work great.
