I was watching a pbusardo review on the aspire bdc last night and I am so confused. He was reviewing it with bobas bounty. I happen to have the exact same aspire bdc, and I happen to be using bobas bounty in it. Its been pretty good so far, taste is starting to act up a little. Anyways, in his video, he cranks it up to 4.8 volts and raves about the flavor and how great it is. I cant seem to figure out how the hell he does this. If I even venture to 4.0 volts it taste like complete burnt crap. We both have 1.8ohm coils.. any insight into this?

It might be a different model. This is one that I have right now with a little bit of customization

Exact same, even the color! Its the real basic looking one. Plastic tank and everything.. I just cant seem to figure it out. That is a HUGE difference to think it could be something simple. I'm vaping it at 3.6 right now on my MVP2.0 and its just eh.

You must be a mind reader or a psychic; exact same experience here. I have to keep those 1.8 Ohm coils down below 3.9 volts and, actually, more like 3.5 to get a good vape. I did the *exact* same thing after watching his video. I dialed it up to 4.9 and vaped and it was garbage. Dialed it back down to 3.5 and life was good again...

A more stern draw on a BCC will enhance wicking and allow you to vape at higher voltages, watching busardo it is obvious the man pulls pretty hard. I have to run everything low voltage because I take such light drags, and at times even have to prime my device a bit before it will vape well

This is an outstanding point. This man draws like a freight train.

But does it make that big of a difference? If theres one thing I've noticed since I started vaping its that NOBODY seems to have similar results. I hate this you love it, this leaks for me but not for you.. I've been going off of what works for me.

Too many variables really. How hard a draw, the liquid, personal taste, how old the coil is....it all adds up to different experiences for each of us. I came to the conclusion pretty quickly in my vaping journey that there is no such thing as a perfect out of the box plug-n-play vape. Everything needs a little tweaking to my taste.

Also - there have been a lot of noises about weird tastes coming from these coils with a solution of cleaning them thoroughly - brand new - before use.

If there's some sort of primer fluid or machine oil residue or something that can't take the heat, it may be tasteless at lower temps and fry a little when you crank it up.

Yes, the air flow and draw can make a HUGE difference. Enough to be the difference between a great vape and a fried wick.

Well, vaping tastes are subjective ... I don't care what the the resistance level (ohm) of my coil is, I do not like to vape beyond 4.5v, and my sweet spot is 3.8 - 4.0 with 1.8 ohms. This only changes when I am using a heavy flavor that can handle higher voltages, like my DIY Banana nut bread, but again 4.5v is usually the max for my tastes.

Phil (PBusardo) said it best in one of his vids .... DON'T SWEAT THE SETTING! Just because a certain voltage setting works for one person, it does not mean that it will work for another.

I have 5 mini nova and 3 vivi nova Aspire BDCs, all plastic, and they are my goto device. I'm staring at a Magneto, a ProVari Mini, and a Vamo V4... all have Aspire mini novas on them. I do agree that they don't do high voltage well *for me* but I also just realized something on the way home. I must have bumped the Hippo on my PV and the draw was tighter... and the throat hit was better and the vape felt warmer. I don't know the physics behind it, but I can definitely see an airflow controller changing their behavior pretty radically. I might play around a little more. Interestingly, I like the ProVari at 4V, my eVic and Vamo all get set to around 3.8V when I vape the same tank. No matter to me really, it's still real good :)

Yeah, the tighter the draw, the more juice that get's pulled in, the higher the wattage you can go.

Just thought I would share a funny moment.

Last night I was sitting here vaping on my aspire with the voltage cranked up a bit. Getting some pretty big clouds. The hubby whos computer is behind me pops out with "Honey do ya think you have enough vapor? I am having trouble reading my computer screen."

um.... oooooooooops
