Convince me Reoville is the place I should call home.

By the way in the area of sub-ohm vaping, how does the Reo perform? ...I won't get into those extreme .3 or .5 ohm coils, I'd probably only go as low as .6 ohms once I get the hang of RBAs.

The voltage drop numbers are in one of the threads CAT linked to above. Most of them distinguish between device drop and battery internal resistance drop (which amateurs don't do). The 0.5Ω is far from extreme (< 8A), but it's so bad (in the good sense of the word), with 50/50 I think it's NSFW. It fogs up our family room so much, my wife is worried about the VG settling on the furniture and stuff). For work, I cut back to a nice 0.8Ω, which is still like a good 58-60 ring gauge cigar, and is reasonable with a fan running in my office. Most of the OG in the micro threads stick to 0.6Ω to 0.9Ω.

Look at the huge micro coils threads here and here.
Thanks for the links! I'll be taking a look at them when I get home from work.

Sounds good. I haven't tried sub-ohm at all so I still have no clue what will be my sweet spot. At least for now, I stocked up on cartomizers/dripping attys to be able to vape different flavors, but I did get one RM2 RBA. If it's as good as everyone says, I'll slowly transition completely to them and RBA's in general.

Oh and that bad boy shipped today. What a pleasant morning surprise. Wake up, grab the phone and the last email says "Your key to Reoville has shipped! Please wait patiently as we give instructions to the USPS hamster staff to get it to you safe and sound"

The chip in the VVG is badass. I couldn't even imagine needing anything other than it? To spend 175 for a mod with a chip as kick ... as that in the VVG just to pull it out and put a different $50 chip in there would be just throwing away good money to get no measurable difference in vape quality.

Me, personally, I'd just get a VVG and use the money you save from not buying another chip to buy the RM2 for it :)

I wonder if a DNA20 would fit in the top of a VV grand............ Now THAT would be a mod to end all other mods...

ROB!!

I'm with you X and mal. Can the DNA20 swim? Serious question.

Well, for one, 20 watt limit. That increases the range you can play with to find a sweet spot. If I can upgrade something, specially something that is already excellent such as the REO, I'd love to pull it off.

I'm just rambling here... DNA20 chip is 1.3" wide. A VV grand is ~1.6" wide. With a cutout door and some solid soldering, and a buttload of glue, this can be possible...

Who wants a Holiday project?
MEMEMEME!

Lol I wish. I have very little experience in this to do something of this sort. After some time of practice and research, if I feel I could actually pull it off I'll be sure to attempt it. :D

DNA20 goes up to 20W, VVG goes upto 15W. I know some (a lot) of you dont need it, but it has a screen, built in protection, ohms meter (down to subohms), battery indicator.

I'm not knocking the VVG, I dont have one. I'm just saying the rest of the vape world would love it. I know I would.

As for the waterproofing of the DNA20, I dont think so, but with a buttload of hotglue, anything can be waterproofed right? or maybe that electronics coating that smartphones are using for waterproofing. Like that never wet hydrophobic coating.

okay I'm stepping off my pedestal now.

Let me caution you on one thing you said..... The DNA does have some built in protection. However, it does NOT protect from putting the battery in backwards. If you put a battery in backwards on a DNA20, it will fry the chip. NOW. In addition, it can also collapse a spring, but the chip is already fried before that happens.

I have a vvg on the way and a dna20 bogger already in my hands. The dna in your face interface that lets you see your ohms is nice. The only plus to the dna (that i care about) is that it accepts 18650 batteries (which i have a ton of) and it displays your batterys state of charge.
Reo has won me over 100percent. Especially over bogger. (I had a rough time ordering a bogger and received horrible customer service, was lied to, and was told it shipped almost 2 months before it actually did and many inquirys later). In the end i got my product and its beautiful. But i wont be ordering from that business again.
Rob at Reo however has never done me wrong. Only sells boxes he has made and can deliver in a timely manner, and communicates with his customers. Now thats GOOD business.

Like I said before, I love tinkering and imagining ideas on how to expand gadgets. I guess another way to put it is I like exploring every possibility. That's why I said I wanted to tinker with a second REO. And even then, while I'd like my second REO to be the VVG, I'd probably not even risk that unit to modding. I'd probably get a 3rd REO, VVG, and use that one for tinkering/modding.

Like all of you my soon to be neighbors :)D) say, the REO is perfect as it is (I don't have it yet but, um, well, Reofever). That's why I want to have both the VV and the mechanical ones as they are, and then tinker with the rest (however many shall come muahaha) But I am getting waaay ahead of myself, probably because I can't wait for it to arrive and experience the ultimate vape.

Should I enter the gates of Reoville with a big banner that says "REO, get end-game perfection and endless possibilities"? :toast:

I was gonna suggest maybe finding a VVG that was ruined by a dunk.. scratch that idea, LOL :vapor:

Two of my VVGs have taken dunks; Silver Anodized three swims, two into cold, dirty, greasy water. Pop the batteries out, into rice for a week, blow out VVG, soak in high percentage alcohol, an hour or two, in sun, blow out, let dry in sun for a couple days or low dust rice closed container, and good as new.

Back in the good old days, when low end computer keyboards started above $100 and could be easily disassembled we regularly took them apart, washed with distilled water and 99.9% isopropyl. My younger sister had one IBM keyboard she started using in 80s and used for at least 20 years. She still may be using it. They RV part of the year so she has a Notebook. Most likely her final decision on Notebooks were based on how close to that IBM keyboard they were/are. I'll have to ask her if she still uses that ancient keyboard at home.

Once I laid hands on an Apple keyboard, even though I'm mostly Windows, I certainly love the Apple keyboards. My Acer Notebook has similar feel and action.

Back to REOs. Most of my REOs have swam, some numerous times, and some are designated "swimmers." All except for VVWs but it's only a matter of time. First designated was first Purpleheart Woody. Second was Curly Oak Grand. My hot tub buddies. I prefer to use 801 attys as, if it's a quick dunk, water doesn't get into battery and 801s perform well blown out and right back to vaping. So don't have to leave hot tub. Crucial when temps are below freezing with our wicked winter winds.

No REO floats, btw.

My first IBM - built like a tank, XT motherboard, wonderful keyboard!

Hey...I had that one, too! Mercy....remember all the floppy discs?! WordPerfect must have had 15.

c: :)

Wordstar was smaller... but I still had many of those 5-1/4 x 5-1/4 x 12" or so plastic sewing boxes full of floppies. Nostalgia!

eta: I should use the correct terminology "mini-floppies." "Floppy" disks are 8" and micro-floppies 3-1/2" ;)
