Thanks Sallie. I clarified on the website WHY we are closed on weekends. I think people forget that it is two people doing this, right now it is two exhausted people. With grass a foot tall, a boat that hasn't gone anywhere for two years, family and friends that we don't see....

They have to get over it.

Looks good! They will get over it.

I hope so. I've received some pretty snarky comments in emails, how I've lost their trust and business, the nerve of us....
My money is on they are doing it from the comfort of their homes, on their weekend off. *sigh*
Looks good! They will get over it.
Baking bread today, I didn't last week and had to eat store bread. blech.

Seriously, people need to get a grip. It's not like you took their money and skipped town. People are just NUTS! Let me see the first post in the general forum to this effect and I could be taking another 6 month "vacation" and this one won't be voluntary! :grr:

I was going to like ^that^ Sallie, but I don't want to see you disappear. I do agree with you.

The bread is on it's second rise. One more hour to fresh, hot bread. I cheated and put it to rise in the dehydrator. OMG! It got humungous! I hope it ends up looking/tasting good. If the second rise behaves like the first one, you will see it on the evening news: "Two loaves of bread smother small Wisconsin village, pictures at 10!"

Thanks Rick! I am getting worried about how many customers I will have left tomorrow morning. Hopefully this won't hurt us too badly. We shall see. Either way, happy people or unhappy people, having the weekend off has been glorious. I actually have had time to spend with the boys, I've chased dust bunnies, cleaned a few cabinets.... And have not gone to work. I love it. The being closed on weekends will remain. *puts foot down*
People suck. That is outrageous. Please remember you aren't responsible for the reactions of unreasonable people. Your hours are perfectly reasonable.

They'll be back. They might stray and try one or two other vendors and then they'll remember why they reordered from you in the first place and they'll realize it's not all that difficult to find a few minutes during their busy week to place an order during the 102 hour a week window you are open.

That was a decent nap. I could have done without the constant disturbing dreams but at least I got to sleep.

I'm really catching hill for the site being closed. Darn it anyways....

People want instant gratification and they are not used to your new hours yet. Give it some time. And don't feel bad about it at all. You deserve the time off.

Makes you wonder why someone hasn't come to the forum to complain. The posse will not take that. :)

Now that you put it that way, the guilt is receding. Rapidly.

I think we are going out for dinner when I am done baking the bread. We have a gift certificate to a restaurant in Friendship. No cooking or cleaning sounds good tonight. And I can window peek and see if the seller cleaned the junk out of the building yet. We are supposed to close on Tues, and if it's still filled with junk I am not signing anything.

THE BIKE IS HERE!!! I cant take pix though. It started raining as soon as we got it off the truck and into the garage. And that was PERFECT timing. My truck doesnt have working a/c and it wouldve been miserable in 90 degree temps with the rain coming down and the windows up. It was hot enough with the windows down.

The guy that bought the boat texted me and said that they've already got it running again. Once its back in the water, Im going to be able to take the trip back up there to drive it at least once. :D

Take a class. Look farther ahead. Assume all cars drivers really WANT to hit you. And...Have fun on it!
Already planning on the class. Just gotta pick a weekend and have Mrs E work the closing shift, then have someone watch the kids from like 2-8pm Sat and Sun. My goal is to get it done the third weekend in July. There is too much going on this month to attempt it before then. And the classes are held only on the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month.

All other drivers on the road already want to hit me no matter what Im driving, so that wont be too much of a stretch once I start riding.

I'm really catching hill for the site being closed. Darn it anyways....

Stay strong FV. There are always going to be people who think you're not doing enough even if you went to their houses and mixed the juice for them on demand. There is nothing wrong with being closed on the weekends and everything right with being closed on the weekends. Once everyone gets used to it you'll get less complaints. I'm sure there will always be a few. There are ALWAYS at least a few.

Stay closed. If you do lose a couple of .... hole customers, youre better off without them. And youre probably right. They are sending their complaints while they sit on their backsides on THEIR weekend off after their 40 hour week.

Like I said, thats my plan. I have to call to set it up, and show up with over $300 to pay for it. And its done Friday eve, all day Sat, all day Sun, and Monday eve.

I shouldve said I HOPE it can be done that soon.
