Good morning up since 5. Already 54 degrees. Rains on its way though. But still 54 in December is great.
12lb of fudge made 2lb to go. Then on to the peanut brittle. Cookies and packaging are tomorrow. Wed or Thursday is play Santa and deliver everything. Planing on chilling till Monday. Monday will be pie day.

Just a tradition and on a Good day I still enjoy doing it. I've been cutting back a little every year. Maybe I'll be remembered for my cookies. 
Last time I was offered a homemade cookie it was a slice and bake or break apart and put on the cookie sheet and bake. I'm like what's this? Pillsbury or nestle, or a box mix. I'm missing were the homemade part comes in.

I got lucky, HAD to go to BJ's after work (totally out of dry cat food), so did the needed shopping trip. Just started spitting a bit of rain as I was taking stuff into the house.
A couple years ago we lost an old family friend that made the BEST toll house cookies, and German apple cake. A gal I know always scratches the box before making a mix. Then tells everyone they were made from scratch. I tried to tell her that's not how it works, but it's how her mom taught her. 
Baking was alway a big deal at my grams house but more so over the holidays. We had cake baking day,pie day and cookie baking day. I'm the only one left that bothers anymore.
My Grandma baked, so I bake. I don't think my sisters do anymore.

I'm still sleepy and want a nap. I have to go to the Ear, Nose, Throat doctor this morning to see if the vertigo is caused by an inner ear issue. If they don't find anything today then I have to make an appointment with a neurologist.
Granny called this morning and wants me to come by after my appointment. I think she wants to get out of the house for a little bit. I'd get bored out of my mind if I couldn't drive and had to stay cooped up every day too.

Yes, it is quiet in here today. Went to the ENT doctor about the vertigo this morning. He wants an MRI and hearing test and told me to make an appointment with the neurologist and try to get in very soon. He said something about possibly being Meniere's Disease which is a problem with the inner ear. Testing will give a more definitive answer. I got stuck at my moms house today. The vertigo hit and I couldn't drive. It came and went all day. My dad brought me home when he got home from work. We'll get the car from my parents tomorrow when hubby gets home from hunting. I won't be working tomorrow because I don't know if it's going to hit while I'm out and I don't have my car anyway. I just want hubbyto get home and the kids to step it up and take over for me for a little bit.
Two packages came today from Amazon. Christmas presents. They were addressed to hubby but Alex thought it would be a good idea to open them up.
