Mornin' all.
It took me a little over an hour to make a 30 mile trip to work this morning. I dont mind snow. I really dont. What I cant stand, however, are these id10t southern drivers who see snow and instantly start driving at 30mph. ITS NOT EVEN STICKING ON THE GRASS YET, much less the roads! The guy that cleans the warehouse offices said that my face looked a little red... Apparently my blood pressure is up a wee little bit.
Last night, the weather guessers were saying we'll get a dusting of flurries. This morning, they're saying anywhere from a dusting to an inch just today. With another 2-3 inches tomorrow. I know that doesnt sound like much to those of you that see well over a foot in one snowfall, but for here, thats going to be enough to shut down the city. See above... where people freak out before it even starts accumulating.
On a good note, we're supposed to be at about 45 degrees and sunny skies for Kat's tournament Saturday.
James! Glad to see y'all are surviving!

How close are you to being all moved into the new house?
And I'm going to join you in having a beer!
Well, I replaced the element, but haven't turned the power back on yet. Holy cow was the
tank loaded with sediment!

The bad part is that it's totally my fault.

I had no idea that kicking the water temp up into the "very hot" range would cause all that gunk to accumulate.

Now that I
do know, I've turned it down to simply "hot".
I really hope it was just the element that was bad and not the thermostat. I haven't had a decent shower in over a week.

Yes, I've showered! But for some reason the hot water would run out really fast, and I feel like I didn't quite get all the shampoo out of my hair.
"Surviving" may be a bit optimistic! We have so much going on right now, its scary.
I would actually consider us almost completely moved in right now. Of course not everything is unpacked yet, so the house is still cluttered with boxes, but we're still pretty much settled in. All we're doing now is getting out one van load at a time from the old house. Most of that is sifting
through everything and determining what to trash, what to donate, what to keep. We've completely cleared out the kitchen and bathrooms. Our bedroom is pretty much done. Kat's room is just about done. Once we get through Melanie and CJ's room, we'll be able to finish up the pantry/artroom. Then, the fun begins... the basement. With all of the mold/mildew/water damage, there will be a lot that is going to be trash. Which is heartbreaking. Most of the basement stuff are things like keepsakes, collectibles, books, and pictures.
We're also going to look into getting a mini/self storage unit. Since we decided to keep our major appliances, we'll need a place to put them. And it will help clear out all of the boxes/bins/totes from the garage so I have more room for my tools and various sports items. And the bike.
Our hot water runs out extremely fast too. I think once we get done with the move, we'll contact the property managers and have them send someone out to take a look at it. I admit, that part of renting is a very nice change. If something needs repaired/fixed/replaced, all I have to do is call someone.
