No fun Drott, not at all.

I'm sitting here trying very hard not to fall asleep. I have weigh in tonight. Hubby is home and taking care of any Alex issues today and giving me a break. Work was uneventful. Hubby and I did manage to get about 3 cups of jalapeno peppers chopped up so I can make some pepper jelly later this week. Did I mention that I'm trying hard to not fall asleep right now?

I've had about all the fun I can handle today.

Time to get home, change clothes, and take Kat to practice and drag the other two with me. The fun never stops.

Tiff! I did the math today... Since I actually started losing weight, I've lost just a smidge over 70 pounds! Granted, only 30 of it has been this year.... And it's taken over 5 years to lose it.... But hey, it's still weight lost! Are we gonna have a race to see who can lose more by the end of the year???

Good morning late. One of the guys are retiring after 20 years of Rat Race. Pressure-cooking pulled pork. Trial run of 3 lbs to see if the rub spices need adjusted. If good I'll do another 4 lbs. Will 7 lbs be enough for 12 people. Also doing 5 lbs of wings, Don't know what the other 6 are bringing. I also got a 1/2 sheet cake. Thinking that could be overkill.
Too funny! I just picked up a chunk of meat and some nice rolls to do some pulled pork! :) I might just take it to work, depending on how much it makes. I don't know how to do small batches!

Tiff, what do you use pepper jelly on? Is it really hot? Do you leave the seeds in or remove them?? (I know, so many questions!)

Whats your recipe?
I do mine in the pressure cooker. I cut the pork into pretty large chunks (cooks better than one huge piece), add some crushed garlic cloves and black pepper, sometimes toss in a Thai pepper, pour in a beer and about a cup of water, then cook. It takes about 15-20 minutes at pressure until it's falling apart done. I let it cool a bit, then shred it and add BBQ sauce.

Good morning all.

I woke up late. Again. I'm normally out the door no later than 6:15. Today, I woke up at about 6:20. We were up all night washing, drying and bagging clean clothes in massive trash bags and throwing them in the garage. The pest folks are coming out tomorrow to do their bedbug treatment. We are so ready for this nightmare to be over with.

Still havent heard anything back from Kat's coach. Mrs E and I discussed the whole situation. And we both have a sneaking suspicion that I might be called on to take over the coaching position. Which I wouldnt mind doing, but it would be another $50 to get re-certified through NAYS (National Alliance for Youth Sports). Then there's Kat's travel team to consider.

Speaking of Kat, she's headed back to school today. Kinda. We have to have her there by 3:30 this afternoon so she can start volleyball practice. The coach has been leaning on her since last year to start playing volleyball since she's so tall and athletic. And shes really not that bad, and does want to play. But on the way home from softball practice last night, she said that as much as she wanted to play, she really didnt want to have people looking at her .... in those spandex shorts. I told her she had to either play and not worry about people staring at her ...., or she didnt play. First world problems are real.

Since I'm off to a slow start today, I better get a move on. I'll be back!

 what's hash tag?

Drott's dog shack on the move.

We grew up calling it a pound sign!

These days, its usually a word or phrase that's "tagged" (like the message board tags at the bottom here). You put the pound sign/hashtag (#) in front of the words you want tagged. For instance, if I made a post on FB or Twitter about being back at the softball fields with Kat, I could say [HASHTAG]#SoftballLife[/HASHTAG]. Or [HASHTAG]#SoftballTournament[/HASHTAG].

I never use them though.

Ok got 5 lb of wings for the party. But the girl that was making them was in a bad accident last week. So I need a supper easy supper fast wing recipe. Help

Drott's dog shack on the move.
Same method for all....

Garlic salt and black pepper
-OR-
Garlic salt, black pepper, cheyenne pepper
-OR-
Seasoned salt and black pepper
-OR-
Barbeque seasoning and black pepper

Which ever seasoning combo you choose, season both sides of the wings, put them on a foil lined cookie sheet (shiny side down), put in a 350 degree oven, uncovered. Do not flip. Check the temps to make sure they reach 165. Once they reach an internal temp of 165, wrap them tightly in foil for at least 15 minutes. In that 15 minutes, they should reach an internal temp of 170-175.

It's about as quick as you can get without frying. Leaves the skin crispy. I've done all of the above seasoning combo's, and they are all very good.
