I still want a newfie. I'd have to have a standing weekly appointment with Casey (the local groomer) though.
And a dog that size is definitely not cheap at the groomers. I love newfies too but i just dont want to have to do that big of a grooming job.

I'll ask him next time he's in the store. Just to have some idea what I would be in for.

Depends what kind of coat you want the dog to have. I would say a bath and brush out and possibly deshed if needed every once in a while when they blow their coat. I don't have a clue what the pricing is where you're at. Pricing varies by location I think. Where I work at for a bath, brush out and sanitary shave, nails and ear cleaning for a dog the size of a newfie would run you probably around $35-$40 but that is with ONLY brushing out, no hair taken off. For a mini trim it would be around $50 and that's trimming the feathers and feet. If by some crazy chance you would want to shave him, which I do not recommend at all, I would easily charge $100 or so. I'd be interested in hearing what other groomers are charging for the different grooms in different states. It's a huge job for any of those on such a big dog. And it doesn't necessarily have to be done weekly. baths and brush out every 2 to 3 weeks and every 8 weeks or so do a mini trim. I will say that once a dog gets matted and has to be dematted or shaved down it will cost a little more because of the extra time it takes. Also, I'll sometimes charge a small pita fee depending on how bad the dog behaved. Of course we don't tell the customer it's a pita fee but make note in the chart for future reference. Im joking about the pita fee but have been tempted many times.

They're not that much trouble. I took Rums every 6 to 8 weeks. The thing I did wrong was having him shaved. It ruins their undercoat.

I paid $100.00 for anything. Shave or grooming didn't matter $100.00

Good afternoon!

I worked this morning. Had two dogs scheduled but one didn't show up or call to cancel (rude!) so I did massive bath on a Great Dane. Super sweet dog! He even jumped in the tub for me. Didn't have to pick him up. I had to use a step stool to get it done because the tub is elevated and he was quite tall. To rinse the other side of him I was literally standing IN the tub with him. Beautiful dog!

After work I went for a haircut. It's a tad too short but no biggie because my hair grows fast. In a couple of weeks it'll be at a better length. The Target pharmacy trip was depressing though. The doc gave Alex a new prescription yesterday and I went to fill it and WITH insurance it was still $260! The medicaid won't pay at all for any prescriptionns not written by a medicaid approved doctor. Still searching for one so until then I'll continue to take him to this one. Needless to say I told her to put it back and we'll just stick to the medicine we have.

Now I'm home and have been doing some paperwork and odds and ends. I'm buying a new yearly planner and trying to decide if I want to have a week on 2 pages or a day on one page. Major decision, I know. I'm making it a bit harder than it really should be. I use my agenda as my daily to do list also. i'm having fun picking out all the awesome things to go in it for next year. It will be in a binder so I can put in whatever I want and section each category. I've been on Amazon adding things to my wish list to use to put it agenda together. Hopefully it will help me feel a bit more organized. So far I've managed to put $100 worth of stuff in my amazon cart all related to the agenda. That doesn't include the stuff for it from Etsy. Pricey planner but I think it will help me not feel so scattered and I've wanted to put this kind of planner together for several years. Besides, my in laws are buying it for me for Christmas. I just buy it and give it to them so she can wrap it and give it back to me.

Hope everyone has had a great Friday!!

Did you catch the goose? Those things can be mean! I had one chase me at the park when I was there several years ago. That sucker bit me on the leg and went through my pants and left a bruise. I had food in my hand so I think that was what he was after. I know I looked ridiculous running from a goose.

Super busy day. Work then to my moms to help get granny moved in today. Then to granny's house to pack more stuff and then back to my moms to unload again. Just got home about an hour ago. My mom was in a completely beechy mood today because she was stressed trying to get everything moved. She was snappy and short tempered with me and my sister. My sister finally told her to quit talking to us like that. I said I will leave and go home if she didn't stop. She toned it down a bit then. She can be quite difficult sometimes but I usually don't say anything. I got on to her also today about bashing hubby. Told her that was enough and keep her opinion to herself. She's not used to me speaking up so it kinda shocked her.

Tomorrow is grocery day. Hubby took Alex today for his groceries. He also upgraded his phone because the old one was about to die. It was doing all kind of crazy stuff. When he went to Best Buy they had a special going. If you buy the phone he had picked out then you get a free 24" tv for free!! We're going to save it and give it to Morgan for Christmas.

I'll go back to my moms Tuesday, when she is at work, to help Granny get the rest of her stuff unpacked. Granny cried when we left her house this afternoon because she wouldn't be living on her own anymore. It's going to take her some time to adjust I'm sure. The good thing about her living at my moms now is that I can go visit a lot more than I usually do because it's much closer to me.

That's my book for today. Hope everyone's Saturday was good.
