It certainly is hot enough here. 86 and really humid.

Victor got bit on the eyelid by some strange bug and his eye is all swollen up. He is not appreciating the ice pack, but it's taking the swelling down. Mr. V keeps telling him that boxers should be used to ice packs on their eyes.

I didn't bake my bread today because it's just too hot and sticky to turn on the oven. Fans are running and I am hoping for a bearable night for sleeping.

Been hungry for bread. Stopped by a menomite farm that sells it Friday and Saturday. After seeing the price. I just got back in the car and drove away. Can make 6 loves or more for that price. Hubby said I should have got it since I don't bake over the summer.

Frenchies are around $3500 here. Nothing is that sweet.

We need bread, I'm still not baking. And won't eat food prepared by the Amish. I've seen the back room at the one closest to us, it's nasty. They don't have to be inspected by the health department, or follow any cleanliness standards. Gross.

Victor's eye is better today, of course he's back out in the woods where he got bit.

Something got three of our ducks overnight. Tonight I sit with the .22 and watch the coop to see what it is, and hopefully kill it. :grr:

I will. Mr. V said it went under the run door and pushed up the little pop door. So tonight there will be a live trap right inside the pop door, hopefully it goes in. If not, I'll be there to shoot it. Whatever it is.

Hot and steamy here today. If the pool would warm up I'd be a happy camper!

"Happy" Monday all. Ungh. I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning. My dad's dog decided to start barking after we all went to bed. About two hours after we went to bed. At 1am... She fired up, I grabbed my pistol and went downstairs. She's still laying on the couch. Barking. At nothing. I checked outside just to make sure, and the motion sensor lights werent even on. She was barking. At. NOTHING. AT 1AM. Stoopid dog.

Kat's tournament was a bittersweet one. The team got their first win ever (they've only been together since May). Kat was playing 3rd base (for the first time ever)for the first two games, and absolutely killed it. Several balls hit to that side, she fielded all of them perfectly, and made the throw to 1st for the out, every time. The third game was the tough one. She was pitching that one. Top of the second inning, she delivers the pitch, and the batter sends a line drive straight back to her. Its happened before. Normally, Kat can get her glove up quickly enough to catch it. Rarely, she'll get it at least knocked down. Not this time. The ball slammed directly into her left boob. At first, Mrs E thought it hit her collarbone. At that speed, the bone wouldve broken. I thought it caught her in the sternum. There have been kids that have died because of hits like that. So in a way, she got lucky it was "only" a breast. She's bruised, swollen, and sore, but otherwise ok. She even refused to come out, and ended up pitching the rest of the game. When we got home to inspect the damage, she finally realized how much swelling there was. All she could do was laugh at the fact she was lopsided. I'm proud of that kid. She's a tough one.

Yesterday, I took Kat and her friend/catcher to the ballfield to work on a few things. The catcher has been catching for about two years. She was kind of thrown into it. And over the course of four seasons, no one has ever told her exactly what or how to be catcher. All she knew is what she saw other girls do, but didnt really know how to do it. So, I took two hours to help her with it yesterday. I brought her and Kat back home, we ate dinner, then jumped in the pool for a couple of hours before I took her back home.

It's been a long and hot weekend on the fields.

This week is going to be hectic. Our bosses are wanting to do some early installs just to make sure the techs are comfortable doing them. Unfortunately, that shortens my already shortened timeline even more. We still dont have shelves or any equipment or necessary materials to do even one installation. We have stuff on the way, but nothing on hand. Our interior fence guy was supposed to start installing Friday but never came. Our trash bin/dumpster was supposed to deliver Friday, but never came. And there are several things that are supposed to start today that I completely cannot remember what they are. I'm off to a great start.

Dark blue? Why so dreary?
It's a shade of blue that is in our company's logo. The best I can describe it is a bright navy blue... I know, it sounds weird. I was leaning more to a blueish gray color.

Perforated ear drum. Need I say more? I'm fine as long as I don't sneeze, yawn, or blow my nose.
How'd you manage that? Or did you already say it, and I just missed it?

Evening. Quiet.
I would love a quiet evening.

I have absolutely no clue. I had been to the ENT the day before and nothing looked out of the ordinary. Driving to work Saturday I felt a pop in my right ear and an instant sharp pain and felt like my ear was under water. I went on to work but by the time I got there there was blood dripping out the side of my ear and she sent me home. Urgent care said to call my ENT today and get in. I don't like this doctor so figured it would be a good time to find a new one. They said I have to wait at least five days for the swelling to go down before I come in so I go in on Thursday. Read my facebook post from Saturday for more info.

Good morning. Nothing exciting planned today. Alex has class and Morgan is still working on school. Once she finishes the subject she's working on now, History, we'll let her break for the rest of the summer. Hubby is home and goes back to work on Thursday. Today I'll do some house work. And probably a nap at some point.

Once again, I get tired just thinking about James life.

The hunt was successful, I bagged an ugly possum. I am now a poultry hero, the drake was willing to walk past me this morning, normally he won't come anywhere near me.

It's a beautiful day in hutsville. Low 70's with a nice breeze. Now if I could just spend it outside, life would be perfect!

Do possums eat ducks?? I have no idea, I thought they were vegetarians for some reason??

Well, this stint of early mornings will be over on Saturday! :) And.... I volunteered myself to cover the month of August when the early guy will be on vacation.

Hallelujah!! Ian and his friend Derek came over yesterday afternoon and did a total R&R of my yard work! Ian brought his riding mower, which made short work of the grass, and Derek did the weed whacking. :) I stopped and bought a blower thing on the way home today, just need to clean up the stuff that was left behind. I just can't do the raking, it totally kills my back.

Yes, they do. That one won't be eating anything anymore. I'll set the trap again tonight, just in case it was a party.

Yeeks! Too much extra work during the summer, stop that.

Send them my way, please!!!! Our yard is still a nightmare, though we are slowly winning. About the time we get done, the leaves will start falling again though.
