I did this type of testing, too -- just for the info.
Was not happy that it took at least 10 days.
Okay, I love orange juice, nothing added, does that count?
...
Straight-up cranberry juice can be hard to take.
What a load of crap, eh? Yes, my friend was getting a job as a medical coder at a hospital and it was a strict no nic policy for hire.
It is so crazy how intrusive the industry is now.
Oh, I won't be surprised if employers and insurance companies begin testing DNA to look for the propensity to develop health issues of all kinds as technology advances, and medical researchers link more and more diseases to genes
Sorry, you might be prone to cancer in the future. We can't hire or insure you.
I'm actually glad I didn't have children.
I dated an RN in a past life who worked at a hospital that did pre-employment and random cotinine tests but did NOT do drug testing, even pre-hire. Never made sense to me.

You pretty much just described the plot to Gattaca. Great movie.

I have actually had people get angry with me for not having any for that exact reason!
I didn't have children because I married a jerk. I wasn't willing to subject them to a father who undoubtedly would've abused them, and certainly wouldn't have supported them. And I decided I didn't want to be a single parent working two jobs while a babysitter raised them instead.
