Had my last analog Sunday, went 4 full days without one, now I'm craving one. I don't know why. I had no desire to have one the past 4 days. When I started vaping almost 2 weeks ago I told myself that I wouldn't torture myself, if I wanted a cigarette I'd have one.

I'm curious about others' feelings about this. Are there different camps? If I tough it out and the craving goes away, that would be better. Or maybe I should just go ahead and have one (there are plenty here, my husband smokes) and hope that gets rid of the craving. Bleh. Don't know what to do.

eh...
i am of two thoughts on this-
you could have the analog, realize its disgusting, then possibly beat yourself up over having one-
OR
you could stay strong, vape like a madwoman, and try to push the craving to smoke away..

go smell your husband-lol
at this point, your sense of smell should def pick up how nasty ciggies smell.

When it comes down to it at the end of the day, having that smoke or not-if you keep vaping, thats the important part.

Have you tried to get your husband on board?

I had the luck of getting my smoking room mate on board when i starting vaping-

I just lit one and had a couple of drags. It tasted terrible so I threw it away. LOL.

I say just go ahead and try having one. You may be surprised and not really enjoy it that much.

Or, try vaping until the craving passes. I think either way will be okay.

I may wait til he gets home for lunch (should be any minute now) and just take a puff off of his. I hope that's all it will take!

I've tried to get my husband on board. He asks lots of questions, and has taken a couple of puffs, but that's it. I know better than to push him.

I definitely can smell the smoke on him. Heck, I could smell it on him in the morning if he smoked before I did!

Going with the "not torturing myself" philosophy was easier when I was cutting down the first week. Once I got to the point of not having an analog for 4 days, it's much harder to cave in!

Keep a it CatMom it does get easier, the cravins were usually alot stronger for me after meals, and early in the morning. What worked for me was using high nic juice 24mg - 36 mg the first few weeks thruough these rough spots and then going lower through out the day. Also try changing flavors this will also help keep you occupied!

I can't really speak for quitting smoking, because I've never successfully done it, but I did lose a lot of weight (68 lbs) and one of the things that kept me on track was not feeling deprived. I guess it's a little different with smoking, because you can live without nicotine/cigarettes, but you can't really live without food. I think there's something to be said for moderation though.

With the weight loss, I know that if I ate clean healthy food 100% of the time I'd lose weight, the problem was that I know I can't do that. I'd go insane. I have to have a 'bad for you' treat every now and then. Allowing myself to do that kept me on track long term, and I slowly realized that my tastes were changing, so that my 'bad for you' treats weren't as bad as they used to be and I was craving healthier stuff. I think it was essential to my weight loss that I not completely deprive myself or I'd fall off the wagon.

Now, if someone were quitting cold turkey I'd not recommend having a puff because you'd be trying to get off completely rather than cutting back. With vaping as an option though, my opinion is different. If you find vaping pleasurable and come to realize that it is more pleasurable than smoking, it might help keep you on track to indulge in a real smoke occasionally.

Realize that this is just my opinion, and I'm only going by what worked for me with weight loss. It may not be applicable to smoking at all. ;)

I'm with the others on this - first, vape like crazy! Second, up your nicotine. Might want to consider some express shipping if you don't have a local store. Third, have a puff and it will most likely send you in the other direction.

After I first started, I ran out of juice and resorted to an analog. It tasted horrible! I cringe thinking about it. I have had a massive stash of juice ever since.

One other thought - have you considered that your craving may be due to something else, like not producing enough vape? If so post away and there are lots of people who can help you through that, me included.

a couple weeks isn't really enough to lose that craving. Took me a month to put the cigs away for good. even after 3 months I still have cravings and occasionally have a cig but they don't taste so good anymore and I usually have a couple puffs and throw it away.

Don't worry about it too much if you have a couple cigs. A cig a day is way better than a pack a day. And you'll eventually lose the craving and the taste for a smoke in a month.

You're doing good.

1. Juices

Pay attention to see if certain juice flavors make you crave an analog.

I fortunately figured out early on that vaping good food flavors gave a me a craving for an analog, as if I had just eaten. I had to stop vaping those along and mainly vape tobacco juices with good TH Occasionally I would mix a food flavor into the tobacco (like Peach, vanilla or caramel, chocolate or cocoa which was a big winner btw - most popular US cigarette brands contain cocoa and may have sweet things added like honey or sugar). By the end of the second month I was mixing a lot of these food flavor juices into my tobacco cart or carto and then was able to vape them alone.

Some other people find they can avoid cigarettes cravings by staying away from tobacco flavors because tobacco flavors remind them of cigarettes. They are more satisfied vaping food flavors.

And some can vape anything right away.

So pay attention to how satisfied and calm you feel after vaping different kinds of eliquid flavors. You may find you need to avoid some of them for now.

2. Equipment

Some time in the first month LOTS of people get antsy, some feel like they may be missing something, and many buy another ecig model to try, usually one that is stronger than their first model. I swore I would not, But I ended up buying minimal setups of 2 more models to try and those are the 2 I stuck with.

I had considered the nic strength already. I started with 12 mg (I was only smoking 1/2 to 3/4 pack of ultra lights a day) but I had a lot of trouble with coughing when I vaped, so I got some lower nic (6 mg). I also happened to order the 6 mg in different flavors then I already had. I started with tobacco flavors, both regular and menthol. When I ordered the 6 mg nic I got mint, grape, cherry and chocolate from Bloogplanet. I LOVE their cartos. More vapor than the others I had from vapor4life. Not to knock v4l, but I just haven't had much luck with their cartos. Some duds, and even the ones that work don't produce much vapor.

My favorite right now is the chocolate. I don't know if that's making me crave the analogs. I really think it was the lower nic. I had an analog with my husband when he got home for lunch, and that seemed to take care of that feeling that I needed a cigarette. After lunch he went outside for another cigarette, and I joined him to vape. I tried a 12 mg carto of Wow Cola, but again, not nearly enough vapor. So I switched to my 6 mg chocolate. So far I'm happy. Guess I need to place another order with Bloogplanet right away and get some more chocolate cartos. I'll probably order 12 mg and 18, in case the 12 isn't enough. I just wish they had the chocolate juice. They don't, all they have are the prefilled. Guess they'll just have to do.

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. I don't feel like a failure at all. I'm looking at it as having one analog in 5 days, which ain't bad at all!

Oh, and someone asked what equipment I'm using. I have an automatic Vapor King and a manual Volt. Both Kr8s. I'm very interested in the 808DM1 from nhaler. Longer battery life, 3-click button that turns the batt completely on or completely off, and a battery charge indicator. I think I need someone to twist my arm. And I need to get to work instead of spending so much time here, so I can pay for all this stuff, LOL. I think I'm trading my nicotine addiction for a vapor-supply buying addiction!

I have a similiar addiction. We should start a support group.

Ack! Bloogplanet doesn't have any chocolate in 12 or 18 mg in stock! The selection goes from 6 mg to 24 mg. I don't think I can handle 24 mg! I was going to order two 5-packs of prefilled cartos (since they don't have chocolate juice), one in 12 mg and one in 18 mg. Can anyone recommend a good chocolate juice supplier? I know taste is subjective, and I remember reading something along those lines pertaining to chocolate in particular. But the maxx fusion chocolate is by far my favorite vape so far. I'm so disappointed!
