For those of you who are bottom filling, how are you getting juice through the tiny slits on the bottom of the tank? Would really prefer to bottom fill for juice capacity and leak-free filling...can't figure it out for the life of me. Do I just need to buy some smaller guage blunt tip needles?

Walmart RX department has (i believe 16 Ga. needles) that fit the standard syringe and that is what I use to fill thru the bottom. They are definitely not blunt but they work really well for me.

The only reason for mentioning the regular needles is if you are desperate you can pick them up quickly while you wait for some order to show up in the mail... which for the next month is only going to get slower.

Been enjoying this thread so far. Sorry if I missed it, but how is the black version on QC vs initial production? Only saw a few issues, but wondered if they were ironed out.

Part two question is: if I can build a billow v1 and v2 successfully should I expect any issues in being able to wick this?

Final thought: cthulhu v2, bellus, and aromanizer. Which would you have if you could only have one and why? All of these look competitive with similar features and I'm curious if cthulhu stands out enough.

Thanks!

Someone will be in to help you out. My Black Cthulhu V2 won't be getting here till Saturday, and I don't own any of the ones you listed. Sorry I can't help you out, even a little bit. :(

So far I think the quality is perfect on my black one, got it in yesterday. I just gotta get my wicking worked on better. One o ring was ripped when I got it and one o ring on the tank was screwy but they have replacements so I'm good. The one on the tank works though so I'll keep using it. I'm just trying to figure out how much cotton to put down my channels of the single coil deck.

I'm Still trying to figure out how you build it.

Vertical coils wrapped on the outside with cotton, insert down into each hole. one leg gets screwed to one of the top screws for positive, the other leg underneath the deck for negative.. Liquid wicks into the cotton around the coils. Im guessing cotton will have to be packed pretty tight to keep it from leaking too much. Not sure how well contact coils will work in there, most externally wrapped verticals i've seen are spaced coils. Will be interesting to see what people come up with.

Another thought on the tricoil. will be a real PITA to re-wick. Pretty much have to remove the coils every time. May be well suited to nickel builds where you almost have to re-coil, given how easy it is to deform nickel coils.

Or wick it like a Genni, except use Rayon ??

Start at page 50 of this thread and start working back on the wicking issue. The way I do it is to put half of the wick thickness down the wick channels (cut off at the bottom of the wick ring), and the other half just sitting there on the deck (each side), and others here just wick it like a Lemo/Kayfun with all the wicking sitting on the deck. Both approaches work well.

I think the design is flawed. This is going to be one leaky deck.

Thanks, I took out my build and just pulled out my wick a lil and it now wicks well. Thank you. I love my kayfun and ubertoot, this thing is so airy.

Glad you got it going RK.
Boy Howdy on the airy. I do Mouth to Lung mostly and have MY airflow closed completely off and it still is not quite closed off enough, but I can live with it.

I assume they've done a lot of research into this tri-coil deck, otherwise it'd be out already. I'm also not sure how it's going to work but I bet it'll be good....i tried building a vertical coil in the v2 last night, it was okay, good airflow and flavor, but very hard to wick correctly...I, for one, am greatly looking forward to the new deck

I'm still researching Genesis style atty's and cotton wicking as a possible solution to wicking the tri-coil deck we're talking about. I've been watching You Tube vid's for the last 30 minutes and think that that might be the way to go. What do you think ? AFC for a few.

I hope not! That would involve learning! Honestly I have no idea, I only know cotton for wicking. I made an attempt at a single coil vert last night..i did get it more or less dialed in before i tore it out to try to build what i really want, a vertical fused clapton. I failed at that...so far.
