Welcome, Spuddy:)
There is no "hit & miss" if you order from the Canadian suppliers listed in the Canadian Vendor thread in this forum - no customs involved.
We are just having discussions on this thread for orders out of country ie.China /USA..so if your "friend wants to be peaceful about receiving anything - just order from our own Canadian suppliers - guaranteed delivery:)

I've never had any problems with customs (yet). Both my order from China were received and released from Canadian customs the same day.

But I found a Canadian supplier (canvape.com). He's in Ontario. Yes his prices might be a bit higher, but considering that when we buy from the US we have to convert the US$ into CAN$, plus shipping is usually more expensive since it's international instead of national...well it comes out to pretty much the same, and I have the peace of mind because I'm sure I will receive my order since there's no customs :)

I love this seller for the hardware parts. But for the juices, I like to order small size bottles since I like to switch flavors a lot and try different ones, and I can't afford to spend $100/order on juice, so I have to make US orders to get 3ml bottles for less then $20. I have one juice order pending, all it says when I track it online is "Acceptance PORTLAND OR 97213 08/14/09 4:56pm". Can't wait to receive it and hopefully everything will be smotth with customs!

I have a quite big juice order (10 30ml bottles) from China and it's been showing at Customs for days now... wondering whether it will get thru at all? Here's the tracking info:

2009/08/20 21:28 VANCOUVER International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs
2009/08/19 23:35 International item has left the origin country and is en route to Canada
16:41 International item mailed in origin country

anyone care to share their experiences on such orders?

Hi You fill:)..my juice from US disappeared off the planet May 10th and got a letter from HC refusing it only 3months later..Aug.15 and it finally reappeared at the doorstep of the sender last week! So it can take a while to be contacted if its not really lost!
Glad you're getting it replaced in the meanwhile!!

The problem is going to be how do they know it doesn't have nic in it? Heck just label nic e-juice as no nic.

Being the government there is going to be some regulation because it doesn't come with form 37474-33GH declaring its chemical composition with an analysis from a 49393872 ISO approved lab based on 3 years of research, produced by at company registered under the Food Drug and Lost Kittens ACT of 1812 then its at customs discression to let it in.

Have fun!!

Dear XXXXXX:

Please find a response to your email dated September 15, 2009 on importing
E-cigarettes .

Health Canada has recently classified electronic smoking products
delivering nicotine as New Drugs under Division 8, Part C of the Food and
Drug Regulations. In addition, the delivery system within an electronic
smoking kit that contains nicotine must meet the requirements of the
Medical Devices Regulations. As such, these products require market
authorization (Drug Identification Number, device licence) prior to being
imported, advertised or sold in Canada. In addition, establishments
importing, distributing or manufacturing these products require
Establishment Licenses (EL) for drugs and medical devices. Please see link
attached:
(sorry folks can't post URLS yet)

However, an electronic smoking product (e.g. e-cigarette) that does not
have any associated health claims and is not associated with nor intended
to be used with nicotine (nor any other drug nor NHP) is not regulated
under the Food and Drugs Act.

I trust this answers your questions. Should you have any further questions
please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

They should have just said "we don't trust you to find a healthy alternative to something we make mad bank taxing".

My order finally cleared customs after sitting there over 3 weeks. It was a fair sized order, about 400ml of nic juice and some hardware, so I didn't think it would ever get through. But it did.

Of course, in the meantime I ordered more from Canadian suppliers, so now I have enough juice to last the wife and I more than a year.
