lol they dont make anything. the chip was already made, tubes are easy, especially aluminum, and mechanicals are just a tube with a 510. somehow they cant even make this it seems since they are shipping them out without the capability of using it as a mech

Like I said, no idea what it takes to make a mod like this.

like i said, anyone with a dna20 chip could make this.

instead of making blatant statements that mean nothing, why dont you elaborate a little. like i said, all it takes to make this mod is aluminum tubes (probably about $2 worth), a little wire (about $.03) and a few minutes of soldering. BAM! $250 mod!

Show your work, break the parts and pricing down.
And then add labor.

i already did. ALUMINUM tubing, probably right around $2. wires, right around $.03. solder, right around $.01. springs, right around $.10. dna20, maximum $50, wholesale you get a much better deal. throwing it all together, maybe 1 hour total if your slow. explain to me where that comes above $100

your turn, explain your position on this. i think you know nothing and are just slinging out statements with no knowledge to back it up

People complaining about the price have no idea whatsoever what it takes to make a mod like this.

DNA-20 chip, around $40, I can mass produce the tube in SS, one operation, one machine, for around $30, the buttons, maybe $4?, assembly is as hard as you want to make it and maybe $1 for a Lexan screen.
I spent 13yrs in machine shops and run equipment most people don't even know exists, it's very doable! I even helped a member here design a box mod with a DNA-20 in it that was VERY durable! Problem was, it was aluminum so it was large and heavy, but you could drive a car over the thing! Only one was made, so not many will ever see it, but this "Cyborg" is doable for less.

Where's your custom machinework cost? R&D costs?

Mods like this don't suddenly appear ready for assembly.
r&d costs? they didnt even make the chip, it was already made and has been on the market for some time.

also, custom machining is NOT expensive for aluminum. im not bashing the dna20, its a great chip, but this mod is not a good example of using the dna20. theres a reason you see aluminum mods selling for 30 bucks, because it costs nothing to make them

edit: on top of that, they didnt even have to tinker with the threading, they just used the evics threading!! now the r&d cost is truly $0

Lol like the material is the major cost for custom machining.

The reason you see low cost mods is they are made completely in China by Chinese companies.

you were just told by a custom machinist in AMERICA that your "custom machining" could be done for under $30 and thats with stainless steel instead of aluminum

many dna20 mods have earned their $200 price tag. this one falls into the category of ones that dont, along with the opus d
