I've never bothered with clearomizers, thanks to the feedback offered here at ECF. Yes, it was all over the board from "Wondermous!" to [see above].

Inconsistent reviews are a good indicator of inconsistent quality.

Anyway, can I use the above quote as my forum signature?

Be my guest. You don't happen to help make biological weapons, do you?

My good friend Sterno is going to trade me some filled clearomizers for some old school LR 510 cartos. He can refill them successfully, albeit slowly, by bottom feeding them through his Reo Grand. Turns out his won't vape well at 4.2v and scorch at 6v. I'll try vaping them today, but I'm still indifferent to hostile about them due to their complexity in disassembling and refilling.

Apparently, I'm not the only person having difficulties with these; they were donated to Sterno by an oldtimer who also found them too vexing.

Hopefully, they'll halfway vape. I suspect that I'm going to use the ones that I have left as spares on a map tank mod if they ever become available. Otherwise, they will be all but useless to me.

Going to order some 801 cartos from madvapes. Saw a couple of reviews: 40 drops of juice, top off occasionally with 6-8 drops with great flavor and TH to boot? :censored:, yeah!

Also still trying to score a map tank mod. Think I may get lucky this week.

Until then, going back to the AFSv2 on the Darwin. Some seepage, and a little persnickety at times, but it's the setup that's best met my needs so far.

Quickly checking in. Have some 801 cartos due to be received today, and hopefully will be receiving a map tank mod very soon.

Map tanks are interesting.

For $44.00, you could have Jon's no-leak 510 atty & a Big Fatty for your Darwin. Details in this thread.

I would love to see pictures and a review of these products combined. Sort of a Voltron of mods.

Juiced up an 801 carto, threw an adapter on it, and placed it on the Darwin. The display promptly shut off. Flipping the arm on and off didn't revive it, even after removing the offensive carto. Nor did plugging it back into the power source.

Can't explain it, but my Darwin appears to have died. I'll leave it on the charger and turn the activator arm on and off a few times, but I don't have a good feeling about it.

I've sent Drew at nhaler a pm, and post something on his Darwin thread. Luckily there's a two year warranty on it.

Clyde, the CService is tops... no worries... email Evolv; i think from the website; your account, and they will get you a replacement... faster than you can get yours to them.
I have the email info if you need it.

I'd check the adapter with a meter before I used it again. I've had the gasket split which caused a direct short....which fried the battery (GGTB)

Well, not bad. Got a email response from Brandon an hour after sending my contact form requesting my address so he could overnight me a replacement. Wow. No 801 cartos in the new unit....

Did you meter the adapter and carto to see if either is showing a fault? Would be a shame to limit your options on the Darwin based on an unknown kablooey.

Nice to hear about the customer service.

Not yet. Will do so when I get a moment's peace at the house.

hi folks, i thought i saw something about 510 to 510 adapter from somewhere posted on this thread... i tried searching the thread but no luck yet...

i find that it's tough to thread the connector... i.e. using a 510 to 901 (one of my favorite attys), and even the 306 i couldn't get it threaded...

don't want to force anything..

i read somewhere else that threading attys/cartos on the Darwin can be a problem...

so far have been using strictly 510 attys without problem... they don't screw on very far, but good enough to fire with nice draw.

that's it MX! thanks... so i went on and ordered one, and wanted to get a few more things, like some HV attys, which (including Cisco HV's!!! ) but they were not in yet :(

yeah i hope they fit the Darwin connector easily... i think any adapter has to be a good 510 connection as the D connector is finicky. Not sure if they're all like that but i know some have problems. mine does.

my goal is to get a 901 up on the Darwin... i super prefer the 901 over the 801's (too bulky and heavy imo). I really like the flavor of the 901's; not a big TH guy... looking more for the flavor of the juice...

Will post when these are in ...

I bought a few a while back there a nice connector well built. I have been reading this thread from the start to see if the Darwin will meet any of my needs.

I got a 510 battery extension at mad vapes. Fits the Darwin like a champ.

Brandon with Evolv was true to his word, and I did receive a replacement Darwin overnight via UPS yesterday. Also received a home grown map tank mod, but after a quick glance at the instructions, it appears to be leaking. Will go over them more closely and try again, but it isn't gonna be today. With court in the morning and afternoon, and plenty of office work between them, today's gonna be a day for workin', not tinkerin'.

Also received an unexpected phone call Monday morning from Brandon to ask me about my Darwin's malfunction. Turns out he was personally as well as professionally curious about it, since he had so few problems with the first batch of the units. Heckuva nice guy, and we also had an extended discussion about the designing and production of the unit. Tried to see if he'd discuss any future designs or concepts for Evolv, but I think it'd be easier to get the specs of the iPad 2 out of Steve Jobs.

Today I think I'll just take a HV510 and LR510 carto along with a couple small bottles of my favorite juices with me on my way to salt mines.

Oh, it took a UPS delivery to make me appreciate how much I appreciate my local USPS post offices. I guess the only good thing about UPS is that they don't take off for all of the bogus little federal holidays.
