Day 2 - What am I doing wrong?

I ordered a Joye 510 and a 2-piece ecigarette. They both arrived Friday. The first day they arrived, I tried them both out to see which I preferred. I am currently a heavy smoker ... 2 pks a day ... at times in my life, more than that. I really want this to work.

First day, I was excited and testing out both models. I began to feel ill and went to bed. Had chills half the night and felt much like I had the flu. Next morning, felt a bit better. Definitely not the flu? Too much testing? I don't know.

Day two, moderated my use. No more chills and headache, but I can't seem to take a draw without choking and coughing. I don't cough when I smoke. So how exactly do you get around this? Do you inhale the vapor into your lungs or just keep it in your mouth and then exhale? Also dealing with slight nausea.

Any input is welcome.

Some of your symptoms sound like nicotine withdrawal, but it sounds like you might have a PG allergy. I smoked Old Golds (read: harsh), and while I get a throat hit, PVs do not make me cough unless I inhale wrong like when water goes down the wrong pipe. Going from 2 packs a day to vapor should reduce your nicotine intake unless you were drinking the liquid. I'd say your symptoms are from withdrawal and allergies. Educated guess...

Crow - Sounds like you are having an anxiety attack but you could be having an allergic reaction. You really should seek medical attention if you are having a reaction like this.

Could be nicotine poisoning, could be a reaction to something in your juice or the cart. Could be something completely unrelated to e-cigs at all. We arent medical professionals though. Seeing the difference in your previous posts to these, I'd say you are having a rough time of it and should seek help. :(

I have to agree with Apple. It sounds like the OP is going through some nic withdrawals. I went through many symptoms when I first got the ecig because I wanted to drop the analogs too quick (for my system). I have been vaping for a year now, but it did take a month or two before i was completely off the analogs. Don't pressure yourself to much to quit all at once. Come off the analogs slowly if you need to. I was a two pack a day smoker also.

Also, for some reason when i first started vaping the ecigs would make me cough if I exhaled to fast. I started letting the vapor roll out of my mouth and that stopped the coughing for me (worth a try). Once i got used to vaping it was no longer a problem. :)

You know ... I think you're right about the nicotine withdrawal. After first night of chills and headache, that's gone away and I feel alright. Just don't have the inhaling down pat. Vapor hits my throat and I cough. Can't seem to get it past my throat. Do most of you draw it into your lungs or just to the throat and exhale?

When I first started vaping, I got sick. Felt kind of like a mild flu. I wondered then if there was a connection to the e-cigs, but just figured it was coincidence.

Since then, I've read posts by others who have experienced the exact same thing. That leads me to believe that there is some sort of connection between my getting sick, and either quitting smoking, or beginning vaping.

Either way, it passed within a day or so, and I've felt a whole lot better than I have in a very long time ever since.

I just thought it was a little strange.

What mg nicontine are you vaping? Heart racing? Sounds like you are taking in too much nicotine. Cut it in half. I had to when I started.
