OK after some reading about dual coils... I have no idea how they work! LOL They don't work like I thought.

You got me thinking and I tried a dual head and a normal 2.5ohm head side by side. I had the dual at 3.4v & the normal at 4.4v to get about the same vape. I got a bit of a head rush off the dual. It seems more broken in since I washed it and tried it again. It's not as bad as I thought at the really low volts but still strange to me. Maybe I'll give it awhile since I put it in there. I still think I like the normal ones a lot better still. I think the taste is better on the normal ones. They look easier to clean too. The coils and wicks & stuff are in the head of the duals is pretty tightly put in there, especially compared to the normal ones.

Probably all down to preference I'm sure.

As a side note, these are so easy to just drop a syringe in and suck out the liquid and change heads. With all the space in side em. :)

Was loving the titan...then had to change stem. Since there weren't any 2.5 I got the 2.0. Nothing but problems with it. Dry hits and burning hits. Am I doing something wrong..or is it maybe just a rare bad head. I am cleaning the other stem, so I can put it back in but wanted some input.

Sounds like your using to high a voltage for the 2.0ohm head to me.

Dual coils are basically 2 resistors in parallel using ohms law it splits the current down the paths equally as long as the coils are the same resistance..

*blank stare with lots of blinking*

OK... still not a clue how they are supposed to work or be better or what not. :)

Even just read threw a huge wall of text trying to explain dual coils on the forum... my head hurts now.

I'm going back to the single coil head anyways. Got a few bad dry or burnt hits with it in the last half an hour and never had that with the single coil. It was even laying on it's side on the desk most the time so there's no reason I can see it'd have wicking issues. Might have something to do with how compact it all is in the head. I even went as low as 3.0v and still got some bad hits.

I'm sure I'll end up buying some 3ohm heads next time. I was curious about the duals and now I think I'm over it. I'm sure it's a preferance thing or my juice doesn't like it or something. Still not for me and I gave it a second try.

they are for people stuck with non vv pv's who want hot vapor and lots of it. low resistance and double the coil area to vaporize the liquid/juice

Now that makes more sense to me than anything I've read about them. Thank you!!!

My little provari knock off (vmax) has changed how I vape. I tend to go for the higher ohms now I guess and the dual just didn't make sense to me. At least I gave it a shot to see how it worked & if I liked it.

My friend use to swear by them until he upgraded his pv now he prefers single coils different strokes for different folks

I just ripped it apart... I really don't think it's rebuildable.

It's sodered in. Had a really hard time taking it apart in fact, it's really put together well. It's has a ceramic shaft that goes down about half way then a metal post. The wire is sodered to both the post & the outer part. No rubber or silicone gaskets to put it back together on these. The wires are just rubber coated to protect them.

Here is the ripped up shreds to show what's inside it. I broke the ceramic cup on top trying to pull it apart.

We've asked them about seeing if they can mark them...

I really really wish they were marked what they are too. Like the ohms on the novas are marked.

I'm still really impressed with the wicking on these too. Not any where as much twirling as I was doing on the novas.

Forgot to add that in the post above. :)

Good thorough review...

Ok, I got mine in my GotVapesMail this morning. Keep in mind this is just a first impression.

Mechanical stuff:

Out of the box is that this thing is solid and well built. I like the metal to metal threading, very solid. I always worry about the Vivi Nova threads, and even had a mini nova that was either stripped out of the box or I tightened it too much, not sure which. Ain't gonna happen with this.

One thing I absolutely noticed and love is that the stem connects to the base via a real 510 thread connection, which will make these a breeze to dry burn without having a disassembled unit to plug the head into.

The thing I don't like so much is the threaded drip tip. I always worry about making a good seal, and I've overtightened quite a few on the stardusts and broke the thread ring free of the tip. Maybe the metal stardust tips would work better, but I'd really like to see a top seal more like the Nova on this where you can use a standard drip tip. On the plus side, you can unscrew the tip and fill or top off the tank without removing the top, and threads look more robust on the included tip, so I'll reserve final judgement on it, as it doesn't reall affect performance any. Though this is a personal thing with me, YMMV.

The only other thing is that the stems don't seem to be marked for their resistance value like the Vivi heads. I hope they'll be doing this in the future.

Vaping:

I filled it about 1/3 the way up with a blackberry limoncello flavor similar to the flavor that clouded the Vivi tank on me, swirled it around, and let it sit for a few minutes to saturate the wick. The liquid is 60/40, not too thick but not completely thin either. I mounted it on my Young June Chrome Lavatube 2.0 clone. The head came in at 2.4 ohms, close enough to the 2.5 rating, so I set it at 4.6v as a starting point.

I took the first hit. Decent vapor and flavor. The next few hits it kept getting better and better, and after about 10 it leveled off. Vapor production is excellent, and flavor was excellent too. I'm not sure it was any stronger flavor than on the Stardust with a vivi head, but it sort of tasted cleaner, and more integrated. The vivi head with the long wick on occasion seem to separate the flavors, and so far this doesn't seem to be doing that, but time will tell.

Wicking seems to be excellent so far. No flooding, and I'm able to 6 or 7 big hits in rapid succession with the PV vertical before getting a hint of a dry hit. Letting it sit vertically after that for 30 seconds and it's back to normal. I think I'll be tilting this alot less than I have to with the Vivis.

So far, this is a winner. I can see a few more in the very near future. Though I'd love to see a mini version that doesn't look like an old school street lamp on my twists. :)

Good! Because I'm going to order 3.0ohm heads. See what one I like the best, even though I'm sure it'll be the 3.0's. Be nice to tell them apart from the 2.5's I have now. I'll just have to keep track for now I guess.

Dieing for my metal tips to get here! Hopefully Saturday, seems the norm from the past orders time wise. Then it's just down to what ohms I like best.

As a side note... didn't realize the tank had different thread on the top & bottom. You can't screw them in wrong, one is wider or something. Hadn't noticed that before.

they seem like they are made like the grande in that way. very hard to take apart certainly was not made to rebuild though you will have to buy the replacement heads which would be okay as long as the flavor is better then the novas

If they last as long as the nova heads do... totally worth it! They seem really easy to clean, just like the novas are. I've cleaned one like 4 times now. I just run it under hot water & dry burn it. Pretty much good as new. I change flavors a LOT so I clean them each time I fill em. The nova's did really well with that abuse. I hope these do to.

Curious how long the tank is lasting for other people. One full tank lasts me a little more than a day, maybe a day & a half. Still carry a spare just in case from habit. Even ordered 2 more for backups when I ordered the metal tips.

(edit) Oh, and I'm putting in the whole 6ml. All the way to the top of the head. Still haven't had a leak yet doing that. Couldn't say that with the novas. Over fill them and it gurgled a lot till it got down to the wick. Another perk on these. :p
