I've just come across a qc issue I thought I'd mention. Since you didn't have the 2.5 stems when I ordered my Telescope I also ordered a 2.0 stem just to see. When I used it the hits were hot and dry which I figured was just the resistance. Just now though I examined it more closely and it turns out that the wick slots in the stem aren't spaced at 180 degrees but are pretty far from that. Both the wicks were pinched badly. However I was able to adjust the ceramic cup so that one of the wicks wasn't pinched at all but the other was severely pinched and while not optimal seems to work OK at least when the tank is near full. I mainly mention it because of the several people on this thread complaining of hot dry hits and this may be their issue.

I looked at all three of my heads, the 2.5 that came with it, the 2.0 and the dual coil 1.5. The 2.5 is closest to having the slots 180 degrees apart, and the 2.0 and 1.5 have them offset from that. In the 2.0, it isn't quite enough to pinch the wicks, but it looked like it might on the DC. I was able to nudge the cup itself off center so that it looks like it won't pinch either leg of the wick. I've yet to try the DC. I will tonight and report what I find.

horay for you, lol What do you want us to say.

In retrospect rather than getting all defensive the better response from me would have been "Please explain the source of the hostility so I can decide whether to be offended or apologetic". I have no doubt that we would have more quickly settled the matter. Hopefully I learned something and will remember if a similar situation comes up. (Imagine a beating a dead horse smiley here)

I've been vaping the 1.5 DC head. After the initial nudge of the ceramic cup so that the wicks weren't pinched, it's vaping like quite nicely, no dry hits and very good flavor and wicking, awesome vapor and throat hit.
Do the dual coil heads have separate wicks or do they have two coils on the same wick?

Good question. I just looked at mine which I have not tried yet. Looks like three wicks. Two are wrapped together with a coil and the third wick as far as I can see is coiled by itself. So one coil on two wicks and one coil on a single wick. Strange lookin. The single coil is kinda snaked under the double wick coil.

Let me tell you, you really REALLY don't want to forget to screw out the button lock on a Telescope before slipping it into a holster. Since it's fully mechanical there is no automatic turn off like I'm used to. Anyway, melted down and ruined the Titan. Probably very lucky that both coils burned out when they did. The battery was hot enough that I got a light burn trying to remove it from the holster. Keep away from children and mental incompetents. Doh

Just out of curiosity for my own info, would that 2 cent fuse have prevented this? Or are they only good for a dead short?

First let me say it did work out of the box but I mod everything but Li-on's so here is the basics of what I did. I started by completely gutting the head tube, then used the silicone sleeve from inside a Stardust wick tube with the silicone cap from above Stardust wick placed over sleeve cause Titan tube is fatter, plus the positive post from Stardust. Essentially coiled it like a Stardust with 32g Ni-chrome with 3 mm silica. I enlarged slits in tube slightly and cut very small amount from Titan silicone cap. Vapes really well. I hope that you can see the two pieces of silicone from the Stardust under the wick/coil. The ceramic cup is long gone.View attachment 133335

I wondered about that myself. My uneducated guess is no. I'm still getting one though. With the big battery I'm using a hard short would be unpleasant.

Somewhere out there
I have been using this tank and so far I like it better than any other clearo I have tried. The one thing about all clearos is the need to be sure juice is getting wicked so I turn it slowly for juice to get to top of wick for 1 min before vaping if it is sitting around and have had no problem with the 3 ohm and dry hits. I did have problems with the 2 ohm heads burning and dry hits. So I prefer 2.5 or 3 for theses. So far this is my fav clearo tank. bnrk

No. According to their ad blurbs, it's intended for hard shorts. Technically, the Telescope was operating normally, I.E. drawing current within safe limits, just for way too long causing overheating issues.

I'm using a stock 1.5 DC Titan and I never thought I'd be saying this but it almost puts out too much vapor. It doesn't leak, it doesn't gurgle, it hardly ever gets any liquid in my mouth, I don't need a syringe to fill it, it's totally silent except for a bit of a whistle if I hit it too hard, the stems are super easy to replace, and the drip tip doesn't even get uncomfortably hot like all of the other top coil units I've tried. I really don't see how it could be improved. My only complaint, and its a small one, is that most of the stems I've tried required a small adjustment to the ceramic cup to not pinch the wicks.
