My experience with spaced coils is that they don't gunk up as bad and I can stretch out my wicking to about a week. I don't try to go longer than that I just don't want to fiddle with my setup during the work week. I don't notice a difference in flavor. But I do notice that they are not as efficient and require more power. So, if you're a unregulated squonkin Sloth (and I know you are) it may not be best for you.
