I guess that's the problem. The resistance will also get higher when the coil is hot and then is probably out of spec for TC builds and the chip gets confused. Another reason might be the oxidation of the mesh must be pretty much perfect so that the resistance isn't all over the place, especially while firing.

It would be out of spec on most mods although as I recently learned, that spec may be meaningless in many cases. The dna 40 for example will fire any coil at any ohms, including for TC. Tested with TC at up to 4.2Ω with Ni200, and 3.5Ω with Titanium. It just soft limits the power if necessary, and the 1.0Ω limit for TC appears to be nothing more than a suggestion, designed to ensure the coil can be heated with full power, out of the soft-limit area.

The same should apply to the Dicodes and in their App Note For Temp Controlled vaping they actually give a suggested TC range (for Resistherm) of 0.5Ω - 1.5Ω. So it should fire any ohms with TC - any supported by the mod in general that is.

So I'm not saying the 1.0Ω isn't a problem, but it certainly shouldn't be on the Dicodes. Although rather than the 1.0Ω specifically, I'd say the problem is more likely to lie - as Arthur indicated - in the number of wraps / size of the coil making it more likely to be unstable.

As he is planning, a good place to start would be with a Ni200 build along the lines of that done in the video, then working from there. Build something that's known to work elsewhere, and then see how much it can be changed and in what ways. That might isolate the area of the problem.

If he finds that even with a basic Ni200 build he has the same issue, then he might need to write his particularly In'ax off as unstable for TC.

Alright, threw a ni200 coil on when I got home from work and it worked no problem. Then I tried a smaller Ti coil and no good. Temp all over the place again. I'm not sure why but 2830 + in'ax + Ti = [emoji24]. Put ni200 build back on. For the most part it's working pretty well but I think the top of the coil is getting hotter than the bottom. If I take a long enough drag I get a dry hit. I didn't really pulse the coil. I'll check it when I empty the tank but I'm hoping it will work itself out lol

You are changing temp coef to 350 for Ti, correct? (I'm sorry, I gotta ask, I know it's something I myself would just completely forget to do, lol) ;)1

..so I can adjust temp up and down in both C and F...wasnt F previously a problem??

Also Ive got a Ti build in, using TCR 350 T set to 450F. Highest I have seen it go is 459...mostly around 456ish...Did they fix the 32° offset issue while I was waiting??

havent set up the prheat stuff yet so running with whatever the defauklts are...i'll platy with that in a mo. Looking good so far although 350 feels a bit low to me for this Ti which is my old gr1 jewellery 24g...the dull/pickled stuff...

Lol.. the significant other is away for the weekend. Im sat here in a pair of grubby shorts, glass of wine and a table full of mods, wires, juice, atties all engulfed in a cloud of multi-flavoured vapour. Weather is good, life is good!!
Like a pig in sh...you know what!

Dicodes rocks btw (just to add a sheen of thread-relevance to this otherwise self-indulgent and information-free post!!)

Glad you're getting it figured out :)

Definitely sounds like they've fixed the FW for °F yeah. It always shows around 30 too high for me and everyone else. Odd it still goes a few degrees over, but yeah it should be pretty noticeable if it still had that bug, so glad that's working! Though since I switched to °C I now use it on all that support it, and prefer it. Like going from imperial to metric, once you get used to a sensible, linear scale it feels wrong to go back :)

Interesting you're only 0351, I think dems said his was also in the three hundreds and he had the F bug. Of course his could be one of the last of the previous batch, they're probably not sold in order even within a given retailer.

Unfortunately the boost stuff doesn't work in Temp Control. Heater Boost and Heater Protect are separate modes, there's Standard, Temp, Heater Protect, Heater Boost. So the latter two are only for non-temp. Shame that - although I hear that for the one mod that does offer boosts in TC, the SX Mini M / SX350J, it doesn't make much noticeable difference for TC? That was ThunderDan's opinion anyway. I've not tried it yet on my new M.

Yeah if you're using Ti other than Zivipf there's not guarantee it's exactly 0.0035 / 350. I haven't tested the new Crazy/Vape Mesh stuff but will shortly.

I'm actually 137, but serial numbers might not be sold in order, because I got mine right when UKEcig put them up initially, and no one else even had them for sale (in stock) for another 1-2 weeks after that. Considering that, you think mine would have been lower than 137, no?

Good to hear the little bugaboos are fixed tho :)

Ah OK fair enough, I misremembered.

Yeah exactly, no doubt ECig got a box of 100 units or something, and then sold them in any old order.

Mine from Greek was 0036, and has one fewer bug than yours - my TempDown in °F works. So I'm thinking I had the very first production batch which had working TempDown but with the 30°F bug, you had the second (or third) which had added the TempDown bug without fixing the 30°F, and now Steve has the third (or fourth) which has fixed both.

Anyway good news it all appears resolved now.

I actually don't know if I have the temp down in F bug, after hearing about it I just switched to Celsius and didn't even bother with F, lol

so nice. In other news, nahualon apparently doesn't fit. Gonna try adjusting the 510 screw without a coil on it. It spins the whole center pin. Lol
