I'm probably not going to be much help, but for me the No.6 is more of an 'at home 'mod. It pairs well with bigger RTAs like the KF4 where the extra weight isn't so much of an issue. I like the menu better on the No.6, its easier to read than the standard Dani menu. The ergonomics are also better, although the shape of the Dani Box is pleasantly tactile. For out and about I prefer the smaller box. Its a lot less bulky and with LG HG2s the battery life is nearly as good.

I have both. The 18650 version performs indentically, but has a smaller screen and the format of the display is slightly different, but the menus are the same. FWIW I got 2 days runtime off a single 18650 with my UBattMin cutoff set at 2.5V, running a TC setup. Pretty good I thought. The 18650 version is nice to hold, and nicely small. The build quality is comparable, i.e excellent! I'd say one of each would be a good way to go :)

Cheers Lads, much appreciated! I guess it's got to be one of each then! 2 days out of an 18650 is mighty impressive and if I did get another No6 curiosity would get the better of me and I would end up with a box anyway lol
Yes, I know it will be worth the wait. I have a Dani Extreme V2 and I will know what kind of vape I will be getting from this box.

But wanting the Red one, before this weekend has some meaning in our culture. You see, this weekend is the start of the spring festival or commonly known, as Chinese New Year. And, the color Red, is said to be very auspicious during this time. So, when I am out and about in my home entertaining family coming from afar and also to visit friends and relatives during this occasion, my plan was to only bring this Red Dicodes out and leave the rest away. So, that is why I mentioned, I have to resort to using my blue ML dressed in Red silicone, to pass it off as, well, RED! I am not overtly superstitious mind you, but, this festivity is only once a year and getting everything right would be wunderbar!

I'm sure the ML still looks the part dressed in its red suit mate! Enjoy the celebrations :thumb:

Glad to hear you got yours JD! Mine is still showing USPS facility in CHICAGO, IL 60701. Amazing that it got to the States in two days, it landed on the 28th and hasn't moved.

Something can be said about the Royal Mail, USPS....well not so much.
Well something could be sais about USPS. Mine landed in Chicago @ 7am on the 28th too. 2 days to cross the big pond and then it takes a week to make the 2 hour drive to Bloomington. Let me know what you think when you get it. I'm really impressed overall.

Well, Resistherm is actually Nickel and Iron. That is why perhaps you tasted the Ni200 type. I am sticking to my SS 304/430 for now.

Yeah I know, was hoping it was not as prominent as Ni though :(

Hey ho , the Ti build I was using still works great on the Box

& will get a free day sunday to make some new builds :thumb:

I've had it running since noon with a dual kanthal build and it's been flawless. SS Clapton is next.

So, how long did it take you to get comfortable with the menu system?
I'm not minding the graduation in settings, but have some worries about the way you select sub items and the values. Does the menu really only let you change one item, then you need to start again?
Finally, for those who have multiple devices, how would you compare this (18650) to, say, an SX Mini M or ML?

There isn't a big difference. I've set up a custom curve on the ML that gives me the same effect as the power boost set to 5 on the Dani-Box. The ML is also the device I always grab because it fits the hand so well, the ergonomics are unbeatable. The only difference for me is that you can get a longer runtime with the Dani-Box and the battery cap goes on easier.

Battery cap is one thing that I dislike on the M and ML, so +1 for the Dicodes. How much more battery life are you seeing with it? Is it simply because you can set a lower cutoff voltage, or do you think it is a more efficient device?

It took me a solid day to get really comfortable with the menu. Now it is really easy to get where I want to go. There are many things you can adjust to suit your own style. It is easily my favorite operating system so far.

I'm still learning the menu but it is definitely getting easier.

Showhead, check these out. SX Mini battery cap replacement

I like my SX mini's much better these days since I changed over to these caps.

I get about 3 more hours with the Dani-Box because I have set the cut off to 2.7. I don't know what the efficiency is but I think it's something like 95% for both the ML and Dani. And I don't mind the battery cap on the ML. It's a small price to pay for the excellent ergonomics.
I thought they would be fairly similar. And, I only swap batteries once a day with the M or ML, so, while I REALLY dislike the battery cap (crunch, crunch, grind, grind), I only have to do once a day.
Once I get a build dialed in, for a particular juice, I find I don't do much adjusting of this and that. Temp, and joules/wattage stay put. Only when I change the coils out do I need to tweak it a little, and then only 10 degrees one way or the other.
Currently, I run 35W or 30J into a Crown RBA with a .55 ohm coil using 430 SS.

I was just thinking that, no more often than I have to change temp or wattage, once I have things set, why worry about the ease of getting into a setting. As long as temp/wattage are easily reached.

Bloomington, eh? Next time your near it, have an Avantis gondola for me.
One of the few things I miss about central Illinois.
