I did a lot of explaining also. I felt like I was giving a seminar, but I didn't mind. My sister has emphysema and is still smoking. I brought along most of my equipment so I could allow others to try it.

I think I got at least 3 people to strongly consider vaping (especially when they tried Dawn's Red Hots). I also spent some time trying to get some intrigued spouses and other relatives of the smokers to back off a bit. They were so impressed they immediately began to pressure my smoking audience. I took each off to the side and asked them to please let the smoker try this on their own and not set up hard lines and expectations. I know that if my husband had taken that tact, I would have dug in my heels and refused to give it an honest try.

I ended up handing out the forum address to many at the gathering. Oh, and my militant anti-smoking sister had no problem with me vaping in her house.

I am jumping in alot of subjects today.. First i will apologize because that thing that people ask us about is not a PV (which i found myself referring it by because of seeing slowy gaining ground here) it's a E-Cigarette... We smoked Cigarettes and use these as a way of stopping cigarettes. We all ordered E-Cigarettes, bought batteries, E-Juice for our E-Cigarettes etc....etc....etc... See my point?
Do you think by any stretch someone that sees you vaping your E-Cigarette will think any better of you by you trying to band aid the name of it with PV...???
Remember the only reason you use this is because you smoked...
Call it what it is.. and inform people what, why and maybe you can help the cause.. The media is calling them E-Cigarettes. Don't confuse what these really are.
Thank You all..

Nothing to do so i guess i will hang around here for awhile. Hey, PV is alot easier to write than Electronic Cigarette..
And i almost lost the site when i first started i was looking for PV forums..
ok i am sorry, getting a litte sarcastic.
But i even read some people saying they were ashamed of vaping in public and calling them E-Cigs will hurt our cause.. Just lighten up and enjoy your new life...

I call my car Betty. It's just "terminology" based on people's point of view and the amount of knowledge of the product. Electronic cigarettes are still evolving in huge numbers and the new advances are fantastic. Can't remember anyone ever saying that about good ole analogs. I've even heard people referred to e-cigs (PVs) as a Vape Stick among many other things. Though I do prefer the term Personal Vapor Inhaler for the simple fact it is clearly not a cigarette. The two have only One thing in common... nicotine, and that's even optional. I think the term PV came into play actually to help the cause and differentiate comparisons between the two products (analogs vrs PVs). Even the standard white e-cig (PV) has taken a back seat to all the new colors and shapes available now. A lot of us don't want our PVs looking to much like a cigarette, it just draws unnecessary attention. An analog could be referred to as a Personal "Smoke" Inhaler I suppose, though I doubt the phrase will catch on anytime soon. Resembling each other doesn't constitute the definition of clone. A PV is as you say, an electronic devise, and an analog is a plant wrapped in paper which nearly completely disintegrates upon use. If you lay a PV next to a cigarette .... in an ashtray, I'm wondering what similarities anyone can make then. ;)

I also like the expression: "You can't wrap fire in paper and expect anything good to come from it."

Good day for e-cig promo here on Thanksgiving. Two noobies seem to be sold, and vaped all day instead of lighting up analogs.
Soon to be daughter-in-law ended up taking home a couple of RN4081 batteries, atomizer, charger and 3 ml bottle of bubblegum flavor. Oldest son vaped one of my M401s on Virginia and a Tobacco/Cherry mix all day and I wouldn't be surprised if he orders. Both were really sold on vaping.
Yea! Add two more to the fold.

First thanksgiving event was a family gathering at my mother-in-law's place. My wife and I were the only nic-fiends there and it was really nice not having to keep stepping outside into the cold to smoke.

Second was a party at a friend's house. There were four other smokers there and they were fascinated with the idea of vaping; we did several demonstrations/explanations and I think two or possibly three of them will be asking for starter kits for Christmas.
