Hey I wanted to know what the purpose is of putting distilled water in your e liquid when u make it? Does it have any effect on flavor. And it seems like I have to use over 20 percent flavoring on almost all the flavors I make to even really taste it. I usually make 50/50 flavors. I use capella flavor drops.

I think the main reason for the Distilled water is the purity of it. It does not contain ANY additives they put in your city water or that may be in your well water. Just don't drink it though, supposedly it is not the best for you to drink.
Dave, you might want to research that part about not drinking distilled water... Actually, it may even better as it has Nothing in it except water; 100% pure... just doesn't taste as good since it's the minerals that giver water the "taste".

I get regular glycerin at the drug store - Humco is the main brand - and add 15 % water to it to get the right consistency for me. That's 15% of the vg, so if your mix is 50/50 pg/vg, it would be 50% of 15%, or 7.5%. Better to add a little less water to start, as you can always add more. Good luck!
Do you know why I need so much flavoring? I usually have to use 23 percent of most flavorings to even taste it enough. I've let some of my friends try when I was testing it and they agreed. I usually put 23 percent and 50/50 Pg vg
Because of your base, your nicotine, your equipment, and the flavoring you're using. If it works for you, then it's correct.
My general recipe for VG juices is %flavor + %water = 20-22%, give or take. And yes, I use distilled water. But then, my max flavor is 12%...more than that is too much PG for me (most flavors are a PG solution).
I use all VG except for flavoring and I add 1 drop water per ml of finished juice. If I add more it tends to decrease the vapor production. . less and it doesn't wick as well (not to mention I have to tip my mini nova and wait like 5 minutes for the juice to flow to the wick, lol).

I tried adding water and I did not like the result. I just use 60/40 (vg/pg) and found it works best for me, personally.
I use 5% DW in all of my mixes. I have been following a Greek flavorist that said the DW will help the juice not to burn when heated ( short version) and my mixes do seem to vape cleaner.
