@oscia looks like either there's a component in konny grape that's insoluble or it's entirely oil based. but judging from the thickness of the layer, seems more likely that the grape flavor actually separately in the PG/VG, some soluble and some not. the emulsion seems to reinforce that idea and this doesn't bode well.. don't vape it...

Oh ....!!! I just vaped it. Ok here's my take.

There's no oily residue of the juice. Did a water test and the juice is soluble. Vaped it and the aroma was like a over riped grape. Taste was fine and it didn't leave any weird after taste. I give it a fail.

I mix my juice in a lab beaker. Then I use a drill/dremel with a metal rod and blend it. Works very well.

Haha if it tastes fine, why still fail? because of the color? maybe go for safer flavourings like.. green apple, strawberry, mango, etc. it's a hate or love relationship. but at < $2 per bottle, it's not too bad of a penalty to realise that it's not for you. recycle it to make konnyaku or agar agar

Well, a hot water bath is providing heat to expedite the bonding process. Otherwise steeping at room temperature is just fine, albeit a longer period to let natural takes its course. Of course, you wouldn't want too much aeration as this will highly likely let the volatile compounds (esp. those adding alcohol related components) evaporate and "escape".

You can actually dispute your case. Just be firm and inform them that the koolada is for your 'baking' purposes. I think its ridiculous that they confiscated it.

think of it as cooking. you wouldn't want to add too much chicken stock since it will make the entire dish akin to dead sea. so... dilute it with more water since it's of the same base... right?

there are varying concentrations of chicken stock. some are overpowering, some are just purely weak. so depends on your stock (flavouring) and how you want your juice turn out to be.

I've been DIY-ing my own juices for some time now. I started off with VG/PG USP and TPA flavorings and only recently tried phoon huat products. PH products taste way better compared to the TPA and usp vg/pg products. It's less harsh on the throat, smooth and.. it's cheaper.

My diy juices are 0nic so I can vape all day(with my wife), and no side effects of nic overdose. DIY is all about hit and miss, find your sweet spot(recipe) and you're on a roll buddy.

Go ahead and experiment. Don't get disheartened, you'll find the right proportion for your taste. Be sure to post the results like @oscia did!
