Just an FYI....I shut off visibility and sales for now, until mamu has had a chance to test it out and verify it works and no revisions need to be made. Hopefully we nailed it because there is two week lead time plus shipping if revisions are needed :(

Another FYI.....I have no profit added to the part, you pay what I would pay and it will remain that way when it's turned back on.

sorry guys didnt know it was in testing should of pmed yall.

Don't worry about it. It was my fault, I should have turned it off after mamu ordered. I still give you props for finding it in the first place.

If the gd printer would ever show up at work, we could expedite this process!!!

So Bap does the Mamu screen cradle have a slot to keep the screen from pushing out the back

No...the cradle would glue in from the outside (covering the sloppy type holes I cut), and then the display would go into the slot from the back and could be held in a number of ways, and a piece of acrylic or polycarbonate could be cut to fit in the hole in the cradle on top of the screen.

Yeah I got the notification and thought it might have been you.

I'm interested to see how they turn out from shapeways. Just trying to figure out the 3D printer thing but its looking like a fair amount of cleanup will be needed. But I'm sure shapeways uses high end printers with people who know what they are doing operating them.

i kinda have an idea for for a cradle for mounting the board. like a clamshell that snaps shut and that could be glued to the enclosure. your illustrations look awesome but i guess thats what you do. ive been looking at my board for weeks and still dont know how i want to do it. kinda paranoind about things shorting out and going bad. still want something better than the radioshack enclosure i have.

Trust me I understand....thinking a tube mod with glass section with plastic ends for the dna and screen....but I would still probably find a way to short something out :D

Hope the shapeway parts are a little better fit in the screen channel than mine were. I had to Dremel.....ahh ohh I mean file it a little more than a little but not a ton. The rest sanded up pretty good. Most of what I have read, people usually sand the rough spots down and spray a coat of paint and it fills in the rest.

Notice the totally awesome and real looking screen blank I made this morning :D

Lucky you, bap, getting to play with a new toy!

So does the flange sit on the outside surface of whatever box is used, like a raised bezel? I wonder if they make any kind of medium-hard rubber media for 3D printers. If they do, it could also offer shock protection and the part could even work similar to a glazing gasket (H-shaped in section) that grips both the case and the screen.

Nice work. This was a pretty clever idea. I bet we'll see a lot of these showing up in people's designs.
