Bap you are the man!!!!!! Thanks for making these !

Don't forget Mamu, she is the one that wanted something simple and came up the design. From there my part was easy.

Because if it were up to me I would still be working on making something complicated.....ohh wait that is what I'm doing :D

Just ordered a few, they seem to be the best way for deploying a DNA20 screen on a mod...

Thanks bap and mamu!

PS: what's the right policarbonate thickness for a clear 'window' to be added to the frame? in mm, possibly :)

I wish!

They don't print anything that is clear. But Lowes has some polycarbonate that is the right thickness.

Got mines today... great!!! Got some black frames and some 'alumide' ones: in my opinion the plastic ones look nicer, will try to paint the alumide ones black.

BTW: Shapeways service was flawless: fast and accurate, 9 days from ordering to my doormat (and they even shipped from their European branch, so no hassle with customs).

I'm now fighting to make it work on a 5mm thick wood wall... hell of a task :)

bap, would it be possible to make another shapeways blueprint for greater wall thickness (like 5mm instead of 1.5)? With wood, 1.5mm is way too thin...

thanks again!

A thicker version could be created....At one time it was discussed, but doing so would increase the distance of the screen from the outside of the enclosure along with needing a thicker window.

Is there a cost associated to submitting another frame blueprint to shapeways, besides obviously from the time needed for modifying the CAD file itself?

Yes I'm aware of the distance problem, but with wood and a DNA20 you don't have many options anyway... :)

About the window thickness, I'm thinking to ditch the transparent panel entirely and just fill the frame with clear resin. I think that should work fine.
