Where ever
I think that the initial learning curve of figuring out what you want/need is a little steep, but I am sure you will save money if you don't go crazy. It does seem that people do obsess over it. I myself want to save money. I currently reside in a state where they cigs are still cheap. I put alot of thought into my purchases. I can't afford to be cheap.lol.

so basically as long as a person doesn't go crazy he can see a savings

I added it up, and I've spent about $200 on vaping supplies altogether, including a couple of m40x kits, some extra parts, and even an e-pipe for fun.

I spent more than that every single month on cigs, and all of that has lasted me 2.5 months so far, with probably enough for about that much more.

So yeah, I'm saving money, a lot of money.

Pretty much concur with the majority here. At about $5 per pack and two packs per day, I broke even on my initial purchase after five days ($50 for the Joye 510 and 10 ml of USA Mix juice from Health Cabin, plus the crazy shipping cost). Since then, I've spent another $25 for juice that I ended up not liking very much, but that's only about two days of cigs. I'll have to get some atties and some delicious USA Mix again soon, but then I should be set for at least a couple of months.
The money that I've saved on inhaler costs offsets all of this. And smelling better is priceless.

I understand what you are saying jdub. I am afraid to look at my checkbook to see what I have spent since late Oct. when I first bought. However, now, I feel that although I have spent a lot; it will not continue being so very much in the future. I have the (5)510s and
the Chuck, a vapre51 and ordered the SB today. These last three are battery mods and
nothing to really worry about but now and then adding some juice or an atty. I spent more than I had to by experimentation. Now, I feel very satisfied that ordering a bit of juice now and then...although I have enough here for a year, I like to explore new flavors. The health issue is THE reason for my not doing analogs anymore. Good luck, happy vaping and Happy New Year!

do Ecig's save you money?

They can. It depends on how much cigarettes (and medical) costs you vs. how much juice you use (plus the long term costs of hardware). In general, anyone that smoked a pack a day for $5 and vapes that much juice in a week is way ahead. And that in the end is the only true standard. All 'stashes' are going to be used up some way or another.

So far I've spent about $145 on vaping. With that money, I've got enough hardware (4 batts, 4 attys, and about a dozen carts I can stuff with blue foam :D ) and juice to last me until about the end of January. I used to spend $25 a week on analogs, so I'll break even right about the time that I'll need to resupply, BUT as long as I don't have to order anymore attys, one week's budget of analogs will get me enough juice to last me another month or so.

I spent £10 a week using rolling tobacco so i can see where you are coming from, and at the moment i'm at a loss, but if you have enough juice to last you, it will only be a few weeks until you hit the savings..

For example i'll have:

2 atomizors
2 batterys
1 passthrough
40ml juices
4 empty carts

This cost will have cost me around £50 and from my vaping experience, should be enough to last me 5 weeks (break even). By that time i may need another atty and some juice, but that's like £20 for another 4weeks, thus making me save £20.

Well lets see...

2 packs a day @ around $6.50 each (generic) = approx $4600.00 for one year.

I have spent an approx total of $600.00 in the last month on enough juice and flavorings + the hardware to last me approx 2 years.

That's about 6 weeks worth of buying analogs.

6 weeks vs. 2 years. I'd have to say I'm ahead of the game at this point. ;)

Up front cost for e cigs seems high, but you save a ton in the long run.

Thinking of the tens of thousands I've spent on regular smokes over the years, I'll be able to now put my kids through an Ivy League college with ease! Ok, maybe an overstatement, but aside from the up-front cost for me, which is roughly $250 right now for a crappy overpriced mall kiosk starter kit and then a real 501 kit and some juice which will all last me 2 months, I will have broken even in 2 months.

After that, providing I do not continue to order everything I see advertised or proclaimed as "THE BEST" on this site, I will save close to $200 per month. Also, I'll save on all the sick person costs related with smoking for 25 or so years, and I'll be able to play with the grandkids (god willing that's 15-25 years down the road) without passing out or banging my head on my oxygen tank!

SO.... despite initial costs of being a new e-smoker and compulsive toy buyer, yes, you "CAN" save money!

As soon as I find a set-up that gives me a really consistant vape, I should start to see a savings. Currently all I have is a cartomizer set-up that I'm less than satisfied with. Too much variation in volume and taste throughout the day.
I ordered a L-2 510 system and some items to mix up my own juice a few days ago.
I guess I'll have to see what the mail man brings me this week.

I've spent way more per month on ecigs than I did on my smoking habit. Then again, the money spent on ecigs has not been out of necessity really, more of a hobby. New PV's, accesories, trying different liquids and so forth.

I could probably settle on a single ecig model and a single 30ml bottle of juice during a month, but what fun would that be?

The way I see it is that regardless of how much you spend on e-cigs, if you do not return to smoke-cigs, you will always save money...eventually. And calculating the years ahead of us for not smoking, that is quite a large sum of cash. So I say, spend what you can afford to find the right equipment for yourself, and watch the months go by smokefree through a haze of tasty vapor.

Lets see:
$51.00 shipped on my 510 kit with 10ml of extra juice.
$31.00 shipped on Extra atty and 26ml of juice still coming in the mail.

Haven't even finished off the carts that came with the kit (one cart left) and estimated 5 ml of the extra juice left.

So $82.00, and I was smoking about 1 pack to 1 and a half pack of cigs a day at 5.25 a pack.

So around $150.00 a month for cigs, I think the juice I have left and coming in the mail will last me over a month since I have started, so I have saved vaping :).

EDIT: Forgot to add $82.00 was with my hardware so I'm looking at spending way less than what I was smoking!
