nautilus can be tricky until you get a feel for it. I vape 80pg/20vg and get occasional gurgling, but no dry hits. When it gurgles, I just go to the larger airhole and turn up the voltage and it stabilizes.

Clones and knockoffs abound, especially if you buy from places like Ebay. On the box, there's supposed to be a web site you can go to and entr your serial number. If it's real, then it will tell you that your serial number has been used 1 time. If you do it again, it will increment and say used 2 times. I've heard people say that there's had been used 942 times or some crazy number. That's when you know it's not real.

This guy describes his problems with a knockoff. One of the first things he talks about after assembly is dry hits and burnt taste and a lot a gyrations to get a decent hit from it.

i have had my new mini nautilus for 3days and i have to say that i am extremely disappointed after all the hype i feel really let down! my aerotank v2 and mega out perform this tank in my opinion in every aspect especially in reliability!! all i get is dry hits and yes before you say i primed these things till my face was blue!! also i cannot vape above 8 watts or i get a serious dry hit!! i have tried gentle drawing still no good! new coil let it sit over night was good for about 3 hours then loss of flavor, dry hits etc!.. i have had my aerotanks for months and not had a single dry hit or loss of flavor!!! no priming needed!! my pg/vg ration is 55/45

MY OPINION DO NOT BUY THIS HYPED UP PIECE OF JUNK!!! KANGER ALL THE WAY FOR ME!!!

My buddy just got one and it works just as well as my kayfun.. Here's the thing, he got one for cheap offline and took it to the store because he immediately thought it was fake - aka the letters on the front of the box were a darker orange then normal, the tank had a cheeper looking finish in the picture on the front, and on the back the writing was very dark and hard to read. It is my opinion you may have gotten a clone.. Look at your box and compare it to pictures online.. take notice to the box and see if yours is different.

EDIT: Just saw the post above mine, watch this vid and pay attention to your packing that you received the mini in.

I have noticed a lot of people that complain of BCC Flooding seem to be newer vapers.
Those with less experience and understanding of how equipment functions and how to properly use it.

Drawing like you are Smoking or sucking on a straw WILL cause Flooding.
Drawing hard against a to SMALL air opening will cause Flooding.
Taking repeated Short Draws Can cause Flooding.
Assembling a tank so there is ANY air leak WILL cause Flooding.

This is for ANY BCC, not any particular brand/model

I am new to vaping and that is how I vape. Thanks I'll try drawing more softly I guess.

Vaping is different from smoking, as several posters above commented. Typically, vaping is long easy draw of about 3 or 4 seconds. Eventually you get a feel for how long it takes on a particular atomizer to get the vapor you want.

If you sense that the vapor is weak, that usually means the wick is getting dry. Then, you take several short hard hits without pressing the fire button. That reloads the wick through suction that pulls in more juice. If you get gurgling, crank the voltage half a volt and vape off the excess, then drop it back down to whatever is normal for you.

The Nautilus is a little more complex than a stadard tank in that it's dual coil and has a blanket around the coils that feeds the wicks. If the blanket gets dry or over saturated, the vape levels changes. Being able to recognize what's happening comes with use. There's a little lag time for recovery and that won't happen unless you respond accordingly by priming with short puffs before vaping for dry hits or vaping off the excess with a little more voltage for a few hits if there's oversaturation. It becomes second nature after a while.

The higher your VG content, the more likely it is that you'll experience dry hits occasionally. If you vape high PG juice, flooding and gurgling will be more likely. The way you vape controls both conditions.

This is all too true. Had a couple of these show their ugly head while I was adapting to my protank 2 and 3. Was greatly diminished by getting the airflow control base for them. But I can hardly bring myself to even touch any of my tanks now.

This will fix all of the above issues and 99% of all others. Just go RDA and never look back.

I didn't want an RDA at first and really kept finding reasons not to. Then I found a Veritas clone in a local B&M for $25. While I wouldn't really recommend a Veritas as a 1st RDA, the flavor, vapor, and ease of use I have found with the dripping atty has really blown me away. I have to lower my nic level to balance against how amazing these perform. I kept my tanks for long, out of the house trips, but drip it to full will last the whole 25min car ride to work.

Just be warned after trying and RDA you will probably not ever get the same satisfaction from a clearomizer again.

How do you suggest filling tank so that there is no air? I am having issues with my naut mini with BVC. Lots of gurgling and juice spitting from the drip tip. I have emptied, cleaned, dried and re filled the tank and still have the issue. Using 100%pg juice. Fwiw the first coil worked like a charm for 9 days. Now I can't get one to work. Have been through 2 5 packs. 1.8 and 1.6

Tighten the tank to you mod, APV or whatever you are using below the air-holes. If you tighten down by the glass/pyrex tank the coil can become loose. If e-liquid get into the drip tip take a pipe cleaner and gently swirl it around inside the drip tip.

I'm using 20PG/80VG and plan on going all 100VG. I've only used 1.8 ohm BVC's. I personally tighten everything up.

Here's a member likwidkool that noticed the difference between 1.6 and 1.8...I know you said you've used both but it's a great thread -

So, do we buy the Nautilus Mini or not:facepalm:

See, this is what I was talking about in post #3. If the OP had only used 97 exclamation points instead of only 26, we wouldn't have these types of questions... geez

(yep, I counted... or rather wrote a quick piece of code to do it for me)

EDIT:
Before anyone makes a comment, I'll save you the trouble:

Interesting thread; I have 5 Nautilus tanks, and they all seem to work pretty well, even with the stock coils. In fact, still haven't changed them to non-stock since I bought them (got the 1st one about 2 months ago), although I have rotated the stock ones with the extra that was provided on occasion. So far I've only had to clean the coils when I change juice flavors (hot tap water rinse, vodka soak'n'stir, hot tap water rinse again). Granted, I don't vape on them exclusively, so they're not being chain-vaped on. Could be my vaping style; I have about 10 different tanks going in rotation now, ranging from Protanks, Nautilus', and RBA/RDA, although my Nautilus' and RBAs get the majority of my attention.

I did have some issues in the beginning with some dry hits and gurgling, but read a few threads on the Nautilus and worked out my issues. I just recently bought a pack of BVC coils because they were on sale, but haven't cracked them open yet since I haven't been having any issues.

I've been using RBAs and RDAs for about a month, and really loving my Fogger V4, but clearo's are still in my rotation, especially when I go out with my MVP 2.0.
