yes laptop batteries, when taken apart are just made up of a bunch of 18650's tied together like firecrackers. but they are not 'chemistry safe' batteries. laptops and cellphones blow up a lot more than people sub ohming... unless of course they're sub ohming with laptop batteries in which case, DON'T DO THAT!
The headlines would have read "Electronic Cigarettes cause laptops to explode.".

One thing I know is that you can charge them by just plugging then into a wall with a lot less risk
