Remember Bookworm that any length can be used with that diameter cap simply by changing out the end caps, that is to say if you want to try a Standard or Halfling all you need is the glass.
We also love the thingy priming method, there have been a few folks in the past who never really got the hang of it and stuck with the thermometer sling or other methods but the thingy is hands down the fastest and easiest once you understand how to do it. Takes me around 10 or so turns most times of the cap and its a done deal.
The biggest hurdle isnt getting the cartomizer wet for most, its the getting it going part that many dont fully appreciate. Those first few times power is applied it is best to just tap the power button for half a second but take a regular full draw like you would had you held the button down the entire time. This draws the liquid in the cartomizer through the wadding in there and up close and personal with the coil. Those first few draws will begin to show a little vapor and flavor, then and only then is it time to apply more power. Even at that point I will gradually add the power giving it a second or two then three or four until it it lit up the entire draw.
Now all of that might sound scary or complicated for some but really its not. The whole idea is to simply break the cartomizer in slowly and it only needs to be done once for each cartomizer and not again until a new one is installed. My last cartomizer lasted five weeks, we vape a light/clear liquid that is a DiY mix of 10% Flavor Arts Watermelon. I mention that because YMWV depending on the liquid being used, how warm you run the cartomizer will also effect this life so being a Tootler is benefit here. I run my 3.2 ohm cartomizers at just above or below 4V. Also of note is that checking the cartomizer up near its end (it was still working when I changed it BTW) the resistance was 4.6 ohm.
