Good to hear epage, I taught my Dad how to fill a tank since he finally caved in and decided to give vaping a go. He came back to my place about a week later with the tanks I had sent him off with for another filling lesson, we went over a lot of stuff and that part didnt stick the first go around. He is 86 and motor skills have slipped a bit along with some memory but he has it down now.
BA, forgot to mention, that setup looks slick... quite a juice machine there. I have a 30mm tank on a Stinger 26650 that is the same diameter and it looks good too with a huge capacity. It sits on my desk and only gets partial air time so a tank full lasts about a month or more, with a standard carto I think it 12mls.
ETA*** Thats what I am talkin about JR. A few tanks and refilling ends up being a not so often event. Even changing cartos gets rare because if you get a week or more out of one and you have three or four in your rotation its like fill every few days and swap the cartos once a month

I am so proud of myself, although it's probably a "duh" for many folks (I tend to be late to most parties), but I figured out how to put a new carto into a tank filled with juice and not spill any!
You are not alone... First couple of times I made one heck of a mess, one resulting in an hour of keyboard cleaning The one I got in today I was able to fill with no juice spill! Ok, a few drops but much better than a few ml's.
Question for OCD here. I did notice, at least for me, the smaller or looser O rings work much better for me. The ones that come on the endcaps I was having a heck of a time when trying to move the carto to refill. Imagine I will want to get some more O rings at some point, so is there a way to request the looser O rings at time of order?

I just read what ya said there again. Actually I have not replaced a carto yet in a full tank, but imagine I would just pop the top off and pour out the tank into a bottle.
My problems were with just filling the tank and refilling, but I am much better at it now!

I had a feeling that's what you thought I said I can't believe the idea didn't occur to me before. To use this method you have to have a "tank tool." OCD sells a tool/drip tip combo; I have a solid one.
1) Prime new carto, set aside
2) Place tank tool into the spent carto and push it about 1/3 of the way down into the tank.
3) Hold the bottom of the spent carto (so it doesnt pull back up) and pull the tool off.
4) Put the tool into the new carto
5) Turn the new carto upside down and push it into the tank until the tip goes into the old carto. Continue pushing until the spent
carto starts to be pushed out.
6) Turn the tank over so that the new carto is on the bottom and the spent one is coming out of the top.
7) Push the old one completely out and throw away.
8) Pull out tank tool, wipe down tank and insert a drip tip. (If you are using a tool/tip combo, rinse tool/tip and insert as a drip tip.)
9) Vape, vape, vape!
ETA: I did this for the fist time yesterday with a tank that was 2/3 full. The tank was a little wet on the top and bottom (like when you refill it), but I didn't lose any juice!

Excellent! Marking this down. And yes, I have the tank tool. Actually two of them.
Larzis, all the orings sets going out now have all three sizes in the set. If you want just the inside ones you can note the inside loose ones on the checkout and they will send just those. We will be changing things up soon on the site to reflect the newer setups but pretty much if you order orings you will get what you need and then some

In the past I have been able to work the new carto in by just twisting and pushing to get it past the top oring then push it through ejecting the old one and flipping the tank over in one motion. Certainly works well. Also easy to use a syringe to draw out the liquid from the tank.

rofl..i do it the opposite way, pushing the new one up from the bottom while pushing the old one out... but more or less the same concept. (minus the switching the tank tool halfway through... i tend to have trouble with that once it gets juice on it...soo slippery)

Remove the drip tip and insert the tank tool.
Push the old carto down into the tank.
Remove the tank tool from the old carto (I hold the bottom of the carto so it doesn't come back up when the tool is pulled out).
Put the tank tool on the new carto.
Push the new carto with the tank tool attached down into the old carto. [Note: there is less juice in the tank in the remaining images, because it fell on the floor while I was trying to balance the parts to photograph them. It didn't leak; the towel is dry.]
Flip everything over. When the new carto is pushed up into the tank, the old one comes out of the top.
All done!
